Update, 12:26 p.m.:
Torts says he is not sure about tomorrow's lineup and that he still believes in Zucarello's ability to help the offense and power play.

Zipay has this quote from Torts...

"I don't think Zuke has hit a wall, just inconsistent"

Update, 11:12 a.m.:

Rangers have signed Tommy Grant, a free agent out of the University of Alaska Anchorage. He will be sent to the CT Whale.

Original Post:
Andrew Gross reports that every Ranger is on the ice for this morning's practice including Ryan Callahan who had a maintenance day yesterday.

Jess Spector gives us today's lines...

Dubinsky-Anisimov-Callahan
Prospal-Stepan-Gaborik
Fedotenko-Boyle-Prust
Wolski-Avery-Christensen-Zuccarello

...got to assume the scratch is coming from that fourth line. I couldn't even guess who's going to be out. Maybe MZA, only because he took Callahan's spot during practice yesterday.

Kreider Considering NHL

Written by Kevin DeLury on .

kreider5John Connelly at the Boston Herald reports that Rangers 2009 first round pick Chris Kreider is considering leaving Boston College for the Rangers.

Kreider, a sophomore, who finished the season with 11g, 12a in 37 games is ranked the Rangers #1 prospect.

In the past, Kreider has given the impression he will return to BC.

...Tortorella has admitted the Rangers pressed him hard to sign last offseason so you have to assume the Rangers are going to double their efforts this offseason.

...while I'd love to have Kreider sign with the Rangers, he is still very raw and you have to wonder if another year at BC might be best. It's not like 11g in 37 games is lighting it up. If the Rangers do end up signing him, a full season with the Whale may be the best plan for him.

...to me a player such has Hagelin is more suited to make the jump from college to the NHL because of his all-round game. Look at Stepan.

...what are your thoughts? Do you think Kreider is ready?

98.3% Chance of Rangers Making the Playoffs

Written by Kevin DeLury on .

In his look at the Eastern Conference playoff picture, Greg Wyshynski at Puck Daddy tells us that according to Sports Club Stats the Rangers have a 98.3% chance of getting into the playoffs.

They have a 33% chance of finishing in 7th and a 25% chance of 8th.

Carolina's tragic number is 10.

Wyshyski also says that Hockey-Reference.com has the Rangers playoff chance at 99%.

...why am I more caught up with the 1.7% chance they don't make it rather than the over 98% chance they do?

...guess I wouldn't be a Rangers fan if I wasn't.

One More Road Victory & Rangers Win Stanley Cup

Written by Kevin DeLury on .

Rangers have 23 road victories. Team record is 24 in 1993-94. Something else happened that season too.less than a minute ago via HootSuite

...with the Rangers most likely not having home ice advantage at all during the playoffs being a good road team should come in very handy. Not sure that means Rangers should punch their ticket to the Stanley Cup Finals but it is a good omen.
