Adrian Dater at the Denver Post reports that the Rangers have continued to scout the Avalanche even after the Michael Del Zotto trade as they had representatives at Colorado games last night and Saturday night.
The Avalanche have been said to have passing interest in Del Zotto, so the prevailing thought was the Rangers were scouting them for a possible return.
...the only two players I could possibly see the Rangers interested in are either Stastny or O'Reilly, but both seem like legit long shots. Stastny is a UFA at the end of the season, so I'm not sure why the Rangers would give up assets to obtain him when they can just throw a truck load of money at him in an attempt to sign him this offseason. As far as O'Reilly is concerned, all reports indicate that head coach Patrick Roy loves the guy, so I have no idea why Colorado would want to move him. Especially since they're in the thick of the Western Conference playoff race.no comments
