Rangers Olympic participants' teams are a combined 3-1 through two days of the Winter Games and they'll look to keep that going as only Team USA will not be playing today.
Henrik Lundqvist, Carl Hagelin and Team Sweden face the Swiss at 7:30 a.m. Then Mats Zuccarello and Norway take on Finland at 12 p.m. Also at noon, Rick Nash and Team Canada look to improve their record to 2-0 against Austria.
...just a quick note on Zuccarello. He easily looked like the best player on Norway yesterday, but he was looking to setup his teammates way too much. He has to be more aggressive shooting the puck if Norway has any chance of beating Finland today.
Speaking of Zuccarello, apparently they don't make bikes small enough for him in Sochi and this is how he gets around...
Zuccarello isn't the only Ranger biking to the games as here's Hagelin and his Swedish teammates this morning...
According to Eric Karlsson, Lundqvist was "too cool" to ride a bike and walked to the game.
Pretty sure Nash is the worst player on Canada so far... And people are starting to catch on. It doesn't even look like he's skating.
Here is MZA riding a bike after the Norway vs Canada game via his Instagram:
Any chance the swedes give hank the day off tomorrow against Latvia? If they did and won Hank would also have the bye. Just trying to minimize games here lol.
Hagelin caught a stick in the face in final minute: https://twitter.com/cmasisak22/status/434334619995881474
switzerland is tough defensive team. But in the end the better team won. One mistake by Berra cost them valuable point. Great performance by Lundqvist
@TheNYRBlog I love that they are wearing suits
Lundquist is saving the Swiss bacon. The Swiss defense looks like cheese.
edit: I'm leaving that 1st sentence as an example to the kids to not try to communicate before coffee.
@KreiderisTheChosenOne Lots of negative comments towards Nash on Twitter.
@Hotfreak So is Norway. Poor Zucc.
@_Jack I guess they do have bikes his size. lol
He scared all the people off the streets with his stare.
There's nothing wrong with him that I can tell. He's scheduled to start against the Czechs.
@Hotfreak You get thrown in jail in Sochi for doing that.
@Hotfreak You mean Sweden?
@KreiderisTheChosenOne That's a sweet pairing.
@KreiderisTheChosenOne Not watching the game. Is Swiss dominating?
It may be time to be concerned that our 7.8 million dollar man is streaker than Gaborik. And when he is off, is as useless as donald brashear
@Hotfreak Or at least forced to drink the water.
@KreiderisTheChosenOne Dont think its all because of missing Zetterberg. He is important, but Sweden should be able to handle Swiss with the players they still have. Second period will be better ;)
@KreiderisTheChosenOne Good point.
@KreiderisTheChosenOne Even without Zetterberg, you'd assume the Swedes have enough talent to get over it.
