The Olympics are over. That means we're back to NHL hockey. Back to NHL games, Alain Vigneault press conferences, trade and free agent rumors, and, most importantly, back to yo-yoing J.T. Miller between Hartford and New York.
Zuccarello of course got hurt during the Olympics, and Derek Dorsett was (is?) questionable for Thursday's game against the Blackhawks. Vigneault previously said that he was ready to stick with the current group and insert Dorsett in for Zuccarello should he be ready. Whether Miller's recall is precuationary in case Dorsett isn't ready for Thursday's game or if Dorsett has been fully ruled out has not been made public yet.
I wanted to avoid doing this to Miller yet again and instead make use of what is probably a one or two game stint. I thought it might be better to give Oscar Lindberg his first taste of the NHL and something to build off of. It's hard to argue against Miller, though. He's been killing it at the AHL level since being sent down in early January. He's produced 17 points in 17 games with the Wolfpack and has shown tremendous drive, putting in the effort to be a difference maker and make plays himself in all areas of the ice. He of course also has the NHL experience and experience in Vigneault's system that will allow him to slot in easily. We'll see if he gets his chance, but the Zuccarello injury certainly raises a potential need for some skill. Perhaps the 4th call-up this season is the one where Miller does enough to stick at the NHL level. Or maybe he sits in a press box on Thursday and gets sent back to Hartford the same night. So it goes.

Miller Time! JT Miller's numbers for WolfPack have been the best so he should get the call.
O.Lindberg and J.Fast are also putting up enough points for a cup of coffee with the Rangers at this point.
In addition, Allen has been getting a few points lately as well.
@TheNYRBlog JT IS MONEY !!!!!
Dreger says 99.9 percent guaranteed that Callahan gets traded. So there's still a chance he remains a Ranger!
While I never like to yo yo prospects I don't feel like Miller is being jerked around the same way Kreider was last season.
There's an opening in the lineup which he has the opportunity to take advantage of but at the same time it's only a temporary one.
That's not being treated unfairly it's just the reality of the situation.
I want to give you props - you nailed this one. Even with all the "agree to disagree" talk from the other post. You know hockey. That is why I read this blog.
