According to the Traverse City Facebook page, the Rangers MIGHT live stream the games.
Adam Herman will have a in-depth look at the roster either later today or tomorrow.
...to me this is a real exciting roster. Really looking forward to seeing how guys like Lindberg, Kristo, Fast and St. Croix fare. If they have success during the tournament it could be a nice little spring board heading into the Rangers training camp.
...a few years ago Stepan used the confidence gained during Traverse to earn a spot on the Rangers opening night roster, so it will be interesting to see if any of these four guys are able to do the same. Especially with two additional spots open with the absence of Cally and Hagelin.
...i know all the Rangers young defensive talent is on the NHL roster, but none of the defensemen mentioned above has me excited in the least.
From SNYRANGERS BLOG:
According to a note from the 2006 tournament, a team can have a maximum of four players who have at least one-year of pro experience and all players must be 23 or younger.
Andrew Yogan and Kyle Jean both played in Hartford last season and the rules probably stipulate that Oscar Lindberg and Jesper Fast be categorized as pro players since they were in the Swedish Elite League.
I'm curious about Allen mainly since we paid pretty decent money for him. This could be a chance for him to prove that he could be worth that contract. This will be a good chance as well to see what we have in Kristo, Nicholls, and Kantor.
@TheNYRBlog I still have a great feeling about Kristo
I'm very excited for this roster, even the d-men. I want to see how much Sam Noreau has improved since I last saw him in the Q. Klarc Wilson is also a real nasty SOB from the WHL, some fights he looked unbeatable. Will probably be lots of fights, which is always fun :~)
Just updated the post. Rangers haven't confirmed that they will be live streaming the tournament. However they are interested.
Absolute joke that the Rangers or even the NHL Network isn't televising this tournament.
@TheNYRBlog the forwards are pretty exciting. On the D, I'm curious to see how Connor Allen does.
@TheNYRBlog no!! we have ZUCCS and Pouliot !! no room for young guys right now... also no Miller ?? starting to think more than wrist
@PenaltySh0t Agree that Noreau is a guy I'm interested in.
@PATR2014 With Cally and Hags out there is room.
@FREE LINDBERG when he was drafted he was the best fighter in the QMJHL and is very good at the open ice hit. Also right handed, with a good shot. Problem is his skating was just bad when he was drafted. He REALLY improved his skating the last few years and somewhat of an offensive game has been coming along for him. Also has some leadership in him. I don't think he'd be a first pairing defender in the NHL, but can bring some crease clearing toughness and character along with very sound defensive play.
@DanW College guys (ie Skjei, Nieves) don't play in the tournament. As far as McIlrath goes, Rangers probably feel they've seen enough of him in the pro level and he's above this tournament at this point in his career.
@TheNYRBlog i know that for 9 or ten games..any thoughts on Miller??aweful strange sent home in playoffs .no mention of anything all summer
Not pointing it out be a stickler, pointing it out because I think it's one more example of how STUPID the NCAA's are. They wouldn't take away a chance for a cello student to perform with the Philadelphia Orchestra, or an engineering student the chance to intern at Google, but they won't allow athletes the same opportunity.
@DanW But Lindberg hasn't been in North America.
Ok good info thanks. But hasn't Lindbergh been playing pro? Like more than McIlrath? Are they both possible Rangers this season
@TheNYRBlog for 8 months??? dosen't sound right
@PATR2014 Rehabbing wrist.
