Martin Biron is expected to play the entire game.
....this is a huge game for Miller. If he impresses, I think AV has him in the line-up the final two preseason games as well to see what's he got in the kid. If he falters, AV may not want to take away ice time from guys he thinks has a legit chance of making the opening night roster.
...i'd also finally like to see some offense from Kreider. Maybe getting him away from Richards will help. Although seeing him matched up on a line with Asham doesn't have me holding my breath.
...the line I'm easily the most excited to watch is Hrivik-Lindberg-Kristo. Three young, talented prospects competing for a spot on the opening night roster. Should be fun.
Meanwhile, Leonard says the absence of Michael Kantor, Andrew Yogan, Dylan McIlrath and Danny Svret in the yesterday and today's preseason games likely means they'll be headed to Hartford shortly.
...the only guy I'm surprised didn't get a chance on the trip out west is Yogan. I thought he's a had a solid camp up until this point and was in the mix for a roster spot. But, I guess at some point AV has to start cutting the roster down.
...while I'm not shocked that McIlrath didn't get another chance, I am disappointed that he won't be able to prove himself after a disastrous game in Philly. The additional experience against NHL talent could have assisted in his development as well.
Can't see a starting spot for Ash or Mash. Fourth line appears set with DMoore, Dorsett and Haley or Boyle. One or other could be a healthy scratch. If Mash could elevate his compete level and play with the kind of energy Haley brings, he could win a spot on the line because he has better offensive skills than Haley. But that's a big if.
Agree that Asham had a good game last night. Still holding out hope Mashinter makes the final roster over him tho.
Asham had a decent game yesteday........maybe he will make the team and play a dozen games this season when he is not injured.......god i hate that eskimo!
At least Asham and Miller are energetic out there. Maybe they'll inspire Kreider, who has never really seemed all that passionate to me.
I want to see some grit from Hrivik. This guy is way to passive. I think Miller sends Lindberg to the Wpack. I liked Conor Allen's first game and am hoping for more good things especially after seeing the horrific play by MDZ, Bickel and Moore in their own zone last night. Stralman was pretty bad too but he'll be okay. Kristo was very good offensively yesterday. Lets see if he can keep it going.
Btw, Damien Brunner to the Devs 2 years, $5million. And Slats is offering Steps $2years, $6 million. Good luck.
I know he is a rookie, but this is preseason and I would love to see how lindberg plays with top-end (top 6) talent. Not saying this carries into the season as we will likely have Step back sooner rather than later. But, throw him with Kreider or Nash for a game instead of Pyatt... you will see just how good he is
@KevinDeLury What's the deal with that? Aren't the Rangers stuck with guys like Asham and Powe? I mean, with the new CBA they can't bury their contracts in the minors because they are both one-way deals. So, whatever percentage of that salary plus whatever salary they brought up, would count against the cap, correct?
