Update, 1:30 p.m.:
Hearing Rick Nash is expected to be out seven to 10 days.— Nick Cotsonika (@cotsonika) October 10, 2013
...wonder if anyone gets called up from Wolf Pack. My vote would be for Miller who seems the most NHL ready of all the Rangers prospects.
...time for the Rangers to put up or shut up.
Larry Brooks at the New York Post feels that, although the Rangers haven't officially announced Rick Nash's status after taking a blow to the head from Brad Stuart Tuesday night, it would be a surprise if the super star winger plays before either next Wednesday’s game in Washington or the match against the Devils in Newark on Oct. 19.
...concussions are tricky, so I could just as easily see Nash back in the Rangers line-up Saturday night in St. Louis,as I could see him missing a month.
Meanwhile, the NHL has announced that they have suspended Stuart for three games, without pay, for the hit on Nash.
Here's the explanation...
...to be honest, I couldn't care less about his suspension. It doesn't help or harm the Rangers in anyway, so, whatever.
...and I don't want to belabor the point, but a lot of Rangers fans gave plenty of excuses for the Blueshirts lack of retaliation against Stuart, including that the players probably didn't realize Nash took a head shot. Well watching the above breakdown of the play you can clearly see numerous Rangers players staring directly at the incident including Derick Brassard who even points towards the area where Nash and Stuart are in an effort to inform the refs of the infraction (1:15 mark).
...i get that Dubinsky helped get the Rangers Nash, while Prust was asking for way too much money and years, but I really miss having those kind of team first guys, who would never allow an incident like that go without a response, on the Rangers. Instead those two are standing up for teammates on other teams as you can see here:
loosing dubi and prust turned out to be the worst thing possible. They were the heart of the team it was their team they took accountability. I used to look at dubi and caly as one awesome player split into two and one of them was always on the ice and with prust there were no liberties taken against us. Sather does a great job of negotiating but he did a shit job with prust. turns out columbus won that trade
This should change everything.........Poor Fast can't get away from pyatt
Steve Zipay says that the defense pairs are:
- Marc Staal and Dan Girardi
- Ryan McDonagh and Anton Stralman
- John Moore and Michael Del Zotto
: According to Giannone, the lines at practice are:
- Benoit Pouliot, Brad Richards, Ryan Callahan
- Brian Boyle, Derick Brassard, Mats Zuccarello
- Taylor Pyatt, Derek Stepan, Jesper Fast
- Derek Dorsett, Dominic Moore, Arron Asham
The worst thing is if you look at the Islanders lineup, they are so much better (and younger) than us... If they get Hank next year, they will be a cup contender and the Rangers would be a bottom feeder
Pyatt is now on the second line... well AV it was good to have you here for 3 weeks, but it is time to go.... don't let the door hit you in the ass on the way out
Is there a more unoffensive team in this league???
I'm sorry, I can't get excited about watching this team at all.
Pouliot-Richards-Callahan; Pyatt-Stepan-Fast; Boyle-Brassard-Zuccarello; Dorsett-Moore-Asham
New lines... yikes this team is not going to win a game without Nash.... Its sad to say but If Richards doesn't play well we have 0 players that can score
Also richards back at center... a recipe for disaster
Nobody stood up for Nash, and a 19 year old kid embarrasses your goalie(when they are up 7-2) who has about 18 years in the league and then he is laughing about it on the bench. They wont see Sharks again until March 16. Mark it on calender
Leonard says they sent Nash back to NY. Maybe it's a good sign that he's cleared to fly so soon after?
@TheNYRBlog good stuff Kev. I really miss Dubi & Prust too and if we had to lose Gaby anyway, then I want my Dubi back.
Wait, did you really type, "my vote would be for Miller..."????? Where's the love for your handle-sake? Has the man-crush ended?
@TheNYRBlog this team is soft. not the injury just soft other teams take liberties
I HATE that a star can miss such a crucial amount of time for an injury and the guy who hit him only has to sit 3 games!
If you injure via head shot you should be out as long as the player you injured.
I always loved Prust, and thought he deserved every penny Montreal threw at him. The Rangers absolutely should have matched that offer. If you think I'm an idiot for saying that, just look at the state of this team. Do you honestly feel good about our chances? Besides Callahan, Prust was my favorite Ranger.
Remember the brilliant move by Sather letting Colton Orr leave, then filling that void with Donald friggin Brashear? He's a genius...how this guy blames anyone but himself for this train-wreck of a team is beyond me.
And what's up with this freaking 19 year old scoring on breakaways through his legs in a 7-2 blowout? Talk about showing up a team. That kid better keep his head up at msg can't let that kid get away with that showboating uncalled for.
Not only does the bench see what happens but in the video you can see Girardi skate up and tap Stuart with his stick. Girardi clearly saw what happened and I know that he is not a fighter but there is no reason he cant rough him up.
@Trade DelZotto+Girardi4E.Kane Knob Creek on the rocks, please.
@Paulie Gualtieri I miss gaborik...
@Trade DelZotto+Girardi4E.Kane pat reports that he's on the third line.
@ShreddyMercury without Nash... no there is not. The group of forwards we have is a joke... thank Sather for that. Zuccarelo, Pyatt, Asham, Moore are not playing on any other team in the NHL.... then guys like Brassard, Pouliot, Stepan, Hagelin, Girardi, and DZ are all over valued. Stepan is a second line center, Brassard is a third line center, G and DZ are incredibly over valued by the Rangers. Hags is not a top 6 forward unless he figures out how to score....
We need to do what my name says
@NickCeglia woah? we dont play in New York for 6 or 7 games... thats way more than 7-10 days
@JeremySepulveda lol....have you ever seen Boyle fight? It's a sorry sight for sure. With his size and friendship to Prust, you'd think he's pick up a thing or two about mixing it up...he could be a beast in a fight, but instead, he looks pathetic. So sad.
@JeremySepulveda im sorry? he did? yeah. like 2 periods later when it didnt matter, except for the sharks that got a 4 minute PP out of it.
boyle some what stood up...
@JeremySepulveda Exactly the problem.
@Jen9400 @TheNYRBlog big dubinsky fan also.. if you could take back that nash trade would you? i would
@Jen9400 Thanks. Still yet to replace those two.
@gravey94 Moment of weakness.
@YimYames18 If he only misses 7-10 days, that's a max of 3 games (Anaheim, St. Louis and Caps), so in this case, the suspension would match the time missed by Nash. Of course, it's tough to put a time frame on head injuries so it could be more.
@johnpnj if you run for preisdent, i will vote for you LOL. well said.
@IcyCup Lol...thank you. Damn Sather...damn him to hell!
@Trade DelZotto+Girardi4E.Kane Nash is a great player, i just never liked the idea of that trade it ended up being the start of blowing up that 11-12 team
