Dominic Moore was forced to leave last night's game against the Islanders after the first period due to an upper body injury.
After the game, Moore told Andrew Gross at the Bergen Record that he's "good" but would not elaborate further.
Moore has just one point (an assist) this season.
...while most disagree with me, I feel Moore has had a inconsistent start to the season (who on this team hasn't?). One game he's at 60% on faceoffs. The next he's at 40%. He is also part of a penalty kill that going into last night's game was ranked 17th in the NHL. Having said that, he's a veteran who's performed in the big game, so he will be a key cog moving forward and will be missed if he's out for a significant period of time.
...as far as a replacement, you guys know I'd be in favor of Mashinter stepping in. Nothing wrong with adding a young, tough kid with size to the line-up. Especially after watching Dorsett take more shots to the face than Voros in his fight against the much bigger Martin last night.
The guy is a tough little bugger. He's smart, plays with attitude and often out-hustles the opposition. I think he was a good pick-up. He will score a little too. More than Dorsett /Boyle or Pyatt I would think. Whether there is a spot for him is another question.
Moore will be missed. He's having an underrated season, and will get better soon. Is Kaleta playing tomorrow? Would love to see somebody break that son of a bitch's face open :), I'm still mad about last year.
Moore is an easily replacable piece. The things he supposedly does well are overrated.
I remember the 70's and 80's when all forwards were expected to contribute offensively, at least once in a while
He left after the first period and I agree...I expected more from him (no pun intended). Maybe he really is still finding his legs after missing a year and a half. If he can't go, Mashinter is a fine replacement to me...and no I'm not saying that to get on your good side ;-)
How about Lindberg... Kids seem to be playing well, and he is known to be a two-way center. If he's out any extended period of time... I would love to see oscar get a shot
@PenaltySh0t No Kaleta...still serving his most recent suspension....
With the numbers Moore hasn't put up so far this season, yeah. He's replaceable but when Moore starts playing the way he knows how. He's a dangerous 4th line Centerman to forget about in the offensive zone. He had the ability to make the wingers on his line better. With Moore I expect his line to win a couple games for the Rangers.
If the Moore is hurt, I hope AV let's Mashinter in the lineup. This team can really use his size. He can score once in a while as well. They need a heavyweight on the team. I don't know what Pyatt does that Mashinter can't. Pyatt takes offensive zone penalties, so maybe even a young Mashinter can't do that. Mashinter can't be any worse at driving puck possession than Pyatt. He blows with the puck. Coughs it up every time when he could just dump it in deep. Mashinter has to be on this team or they should go get a big forward that won't hurt you with bad penalties and horrid possession skills of lack thereof.
@Trade DelZotto+Girardi4E.Kane I think the Rangers are content on leaving him and Kristo in the AHL for the year to develop.
You would think if the Rangers were going to call someone up. It's be Kristo among this scoring drought. He looked confident in the preseason.
Mashinter needs to play. Keeping him up with the team only to practice. Isn't helping him any. He is already a serviceable 4th line forward. With a little development, he could end up being a big top 9 forward some day. Moore is the best option the Rangers have for the position.
