Let's just get this first one out of the way. Henrik Lundqvist is back between the pipes tonight against the Sabres at MSG as he should be.
...Talbot's been great, but Ludqvist is the starter. Period.
Meanwhile, the Rangers announced that Dominic Moore will be out of the line-up for the next 7-10 days with an oblique strain and Brandon Mashinter will replace him tonight.
...and Steve Ott has officially been put on notice.
...assuming whether Mashinter stays in the line-up or the Rangers eventually recall someone from the Pack to replace Moore will have everything to do with his performance tonight. Huge game for the big man.
...Monster Mash on Halloween? I love it!!!!
Finally, Ryan Callahan joined his teammates for the first time at practice since breaking his thumb albeit in a yellow non-contact jersey.
Vigneault noted that it should be about a week to 10 days before Ryan Callahan can return to lineup, which the Rangers captain confirmed.
"It's extremely frustrating that I worked hard all summer to get back from that shoulder injury...felt good..then this happens"-Callahan— New York Rangers (@NYRangers) October 31, 2013
...so basically, 7-10 days before Callahan injures something else blocking a shot. Great.
No forward lines have been announced, but here's what I'd go with...
If i had my say, I'd love to see the following lines:
kreider-man - Brassard - Zuccs
Hags - Stephan - Miller
Pouliot - Richards - Mashinter
Pyatt - Boyle - Dorsett
Be positive about Cally! The guy sacrifices his body n sometimes you gotta pay the price. Broken thumb sux but its still way early in the season! I wouldn't have him play any other way!
Word behind the scenes is that Kevin was caught earlier today trying to lure Mashinter into his van with candy. "I have candy!!!!", he cried.
and why is monster Mash not on the 1st line??? Wondering if they would consider Miller at center - if there is a way Richey should not come off the wing - hate to mess with success
Once again the human slug Pyatt seems to be glued into the lineup. I will pay someone on the sabres to injure him...it seems thats the only way we wont have to watch him glide around, not hit, not score, not assist, not fight...oh yeah, and take atrocious offensive zone penalties.
Tough blow with Moore out for at least a week...
come check out this interactive game event page for the Rangers Sabres game tonight...share video, photos, and interact with fans (aka talk smack!)
Just saw on Twitter the Avs just traded Steve Downie to the Flyers for Max Talbot! I know a few people on here are going to wish we were the ones dealing with the Avs, Downie's name has been in a lot of comments when it came to adding toughness...
Not that I'll be there, but if "Monster Mash" is not played at the Garden tonight while Mashinter's in the ice, whoever does their music should be fired.
Interesting lines. i dunno ...
Really wanna see Brassard's game come out. He's one of a couple guys that need to put up points.
Kreider was a beast on the island. He and Zucc had some great puck movement too
@calithirteen how about toilet, miller, hags
@Betweentheworlds You're kidding about putting Mashinter on the first line, right -- that's just a little Halloween treat for Kev?
@Cally11 Not cool, man. Aside from how much the Rangers have suffered with injuries already this year and even in jest, to say you'd like to see anyone injured goes too far.
@Cally11 For whats its worth, in the 3rd period Tuesday he only took 3 shifts. His ice time was significantly cut down on. Maybe once Cally and D Moore are healthy, the Pyatt experiment will come to an end.
@Ciffy02 LOL! My bad.
