The Hartford Wolfpack suffered their first regulation loss last night to the Portland Pirates by the score of 4-2.
In defeat, Danny Kristo scored his fifth goal in seven games on the power play (1:24 mark)...
...i know reports state that the Rangers plan on leaving Kristo down in Hartford for the entire season, but if he keeps up this goal scoring pace how could Rangers management realistically leave the kid down there.
Meanwhile, Dylan McIlrath posted an assist on a Kyle Jean goal and also did this...
...guy crashes the front of the net and McIlrath makes him pay. Seems pretty easy to me. Assuming that Portland player thought twice about going hard to the net for the rest of the night.
...man, the Rangers could use that kind of snarl.
A couple of updates on notable Wolfpack players:
- Oscar Linberg is goalless with just three assists in seven games.
- Michael Haley has 1g, 2a and 31 penalty minutes this season.
- Michael St. Croix was held pointless on one shot in his Wolfpack debut.
- Connor Allen has 1g, 2a and is even on the season.
How can Kristo keep up this scoring pace? He's only had 16 shots in 7 games. Unless you think he can make 33% of his shots.
@Trade DelZotto+Girardi4E.Kane remember when we were all excited about zuc being signed again last year....oh the memories.
I was never excited... A guy that's 5'5 and can't score has no place in the nhl, except for with a team like Florida or buffalo.... The bruins series last year he disappeared because it got physical.... He never should have been resigned
I'm with you there, Mike. Bring on the guys that deserve a roster spot!
@Trade DelZotto+Girardi4E.Kane I bet you expected Scott Gomez to score, too? Zucc is a passer. He won't put up points without a good finisher. I don't mind people shitting on him when they are realistic, but if you expected him to be physical and score goals, you're crazy. Pyatt deserves a seat before Zucc.
So I guess we can take who and what you are or are not excited about with a grain of salt ; )
On the other hand, I can't blame you for not being excited about Zucc. Can't say we were all excited for him, maybe it was about 50/50. I'm definitely rooting for him, but I root for all our guys.
How's your boy Lindberg doing?
