With the Rangers breaking through with a much needed victory Saturday night, most of the calls from Rangers fans to bring up Danny Kristo and Oscar Lindberg have subsided. At least for now.
However, Kristo and Lindberg continued to put pressure on Rangers players such as Taylor Pyatt and Dom Moore to perform as they played an integral part in the Wolfpack's 4-3 over Hershey on Saturday night.
Kristo scored his sixth goal in nine games this season, while Lindberg scored his first professional goal and also added an assist (5th of the season). Here's the video (Lindberg at 53 second mark; Kristo at 2 minute mark)...
...with Rangers to likely make some roster moves to free up cap space to facilitate the return of Hagelin this week, it is even less likely that either of these guys is recalled anytime soon.
...i felt Pyatt had one of his better games in Detroit, however, his undisciplined penalty at the end of the second period almost sabotaged a great Rangers effort. So, despite AV's man crush on Pyatt, I think he remains vulnerable to being either waived or traded.
...and if he is, you have to assumed Kristo or Lindberg would be in line to replace him. Especially, if the Rangers continue to struggle on offense.
Ah... was it just me, or was that Lindberg beating the crap out of a guy around the 48s mark.... ??? Who knew he could fight?
Moore can stay in the 4tg punt pyatt NOW and bring a kid up. Someone with hunger and wanting to play
I disagree with you about Pyatt, Kev. he had a bad first period in Detroit but played somewhat better as the game progressed.. Was beaten off the puck a few times on the wall and one defensive zone turnover led to a good scoring chance just 3 minutes into the game.
I never though I'd say something like this but Boyle and Dorsett made him look better than he actually was.
i dont see how dom moore is even an option to come out of the lineup...hes a fourth liner who has done his job....been effective on the PK and has done a solid job on faceoffs (better than 50%)....it wouldnt make sense to bring up offensive players to replace him.....pyatt is a different story. i have no idea why AV loves him so much..he can be effective along the boards and on the forecheck but i dont understand how he gets put on the top lines, and on the powerplay or how hes on the ice when the goalie is pulled and were trying to tie it up
Pyatt can b replaced with a cone, but Moore is still a solid 4th liner who helps on PK... Experience can't be taught, and Moore brings that to the table
If they put Nash on LTIR, like I would assume they would to bring Hags back. Money won't be an issue, so I would hope they play the guys with talent.
Lindberg after a slow start has been much stronger of late.
@GiveGartneraCup That was Haley, actually.
@thenyrblogneill I didn't say he played well, I said it was his best game. Very different. lol
@Van_Ness_WVU Moore has been very inconsistent on faceoffs if you look at percentage game to game. Plus Rangers pk is tied for 17th in the league. Not saying Lindberg or Kristo would replace Moore, but could possibly move Boyle to fourth line center.
Honestly I hope they put Nash on LTIR just to end the charade and so the team can move up and forward with personnel changes and team chemistry.
he's been very good at winning the puck and retaining it on the wall...he just doesn't know what to do with it after that. I'd be on the phone with every team in the league and showing them grainy footage of Rick Nash and telling them it's video of 14. trade this zombie!!!
@JMK8363 LTIR wouldn't surprise me, but man that would be depressing.
