According to Rick Carpiniello at the Rangers Report, Alain Vigneault relocated the locker room stalls so that all the defensemen are seated in one area together.
Andrew Gross at the Bergen Record adds that last season Ryan McDonagh, Anton Stralman and Marc Staal used to be adjacent to Brad Richards and Derek Stepan, but now the defensemen have their own row of stalls.
...i actually like this. Definitely makes sense to have guys who play the same position sitting next to each other. Makes it more likely that they'll talk strategy and forge a closer bond.
...when I played lacrosse in college our lockers were arranged by number order. As a goaltender, I know it would have been nice to be seated with the defensemen for that exact reason.
It's all about chemistry sitting the D together gets them all talking and bonding more and more.. It's vital to winning
@TheNYRBlog I like that too Kev
I don't know Kevin...who cares where they sit - Lets just win some games. That said if this is going to help somehow winning games, I am all for it!
