Last night, after another punchless Rangers effort in Philadelphia, Pat Leonard of the Daily News retweeted this tweet from Sean Avery...
Unfortunately, this morning Avery deleted his orginal tweet and I didn't get a screen grab of it.
...Avery likes to use social media to mess with fans (see engagement to Andy Cohen), so I'm assuming he's just trying to get a rise out of people. Especially Rangers fans looking for some kind of spark for their team.
...if he hadn't deleted the tweet I'm sure there'd be plenty of Rangers fans swimming in the Hudson to find those skates as we speak.
...i'm as big of an Avery fan as you'll find and the Rangers could use the kind of energy only he could provide, but his time has come and gone. I mean, there's a better chance of Brett Favre coming out of retirement than this happening. Wait, what?
Last season, Avery sent out a tweet calling John Tortorella a clown and that his players hated him.
@MarcWeissman rangers were THIS close against the Flyers. besides effort talent and, well, effort. #annoying
This teams got problems they blew it all up for nash and this guy is a hit away from never playing again whenever and if he even returns. Im so aggravated what a joke
On the Favre note, WFAN was reporting today that he is suffering from "severe" memory loss. Which sucks.
God, Avery's like the girlfriend that you broke up with months ago who won't stop calling. Sean, we're just not that into you anymore. Get a life!
It's one thing when fans still talk about AVery coming back..........it's plain sad when Avery himself tweets crap like this and last season because all of his other endeavors have failed like his hockey career! This is now his claim to fame: sending tweets about a possible return to the ice after years away. Congrats Sean! Can't wait for you to have a reality show on Bravo!
As a Rams fan I'd gladly take Favre over Tebow any day of the week. Even if had to play in a wheelchair. He'd still throw the ball better than Tebow ever could.
That being said, I love Avery but no thanks.
Yes, I heard he actually now believes he was a good NFL quarterback. He keeps hearing the misguided media tell him so.
@MarcWeissman One goal against the 1-7 Flyers. Yep, it was an all out offensive assault last night.
@FREE MASHINTER Where did I say that?
Apparently it wasn't Zucc that was the problem. Lets try benching the real problems.....Boyle, Pyatt, Moore, and Dorsett.
@FREE MASHINTER exactly....but I never said anything about any offensive assault? <smh>
@supermazsay what u want Avery still better than all those guys u just listed just saying
@supermaz when you have a Coach who can justify in his own mind that PYATT dresses and plays every game.....that one of the problems
Pouliot can be added to the list, sorry I forgot about him.
Penalty killing is an overrated talent.
Moore and Dorsett will not combine for 5 goals this entire season. 4th line or no 4th line, you need to score once in a while.
@supermaz How are Moore and Dorsett the problem when they both played well on the PK and are playing their role as fourth line players? How are they higher on that list than a player like Pouliot? Am I the only one confused about this?
@AnnoyingJoe Gee, wonder how u got that moniker? ;)
