Again Girardi scored a goal off Lundqvist. Is he ever aware which direction his skates are pointing? I'd love to see a montage of goals tipped in by Girardi the last few years.
Time to bring up Kristo for the power play.. The kid can shoot!!!
2 days ago everything was right in the world, today we're fire selling the team and firing the coach. WTF? The team is good but needs some tweaking to be legit cup contenders and AV's got to start making better decisions. How the f* and in what universe does Dorset sit against the Bs unless he is hurt.
they have cap room and a trade piece in the press box, they dont need to flip, fire sale, or overhaul anything. more like just add a small piece and wait for cally, hagelin, girardi, staal, moore , brass and most importantly hank to start playing to there ability and all will be fine. most important thing was nash, he looks great. im not worried about the rest they have been in playoffs every year but 1 and won many playoff series, they will rise. as far as the cup goes, the mdz trade is key, but every1 else should stay.
you guys over react to alot of things unwarranted. best team in the east, end of a 5 game road trip and we had them. whats the problem? we know we arent best in the east but thatts ok, doesnt mean we cant win a 7 gamer vs them. They arent going to flip a switch with all the changes going on. there a post-olympic post-season team this year. we need to relax. the trade hank shit is too funny, you guys saying that are a joke. the team is built from him out, pk is #4 is pp can get to top 10 and we can be maybe top 12 in scoring we are extremely dangerous. there are so many moving parts right now its tough to judge
I've thought McIlrath was a terrible pick from the start, but he is looking pretty nice right now. I would call him up and if he sucks on D, you could always try him on the wing a la Bickel.
im sorry but wheres the perspective? if they held on they would have had a 4-1 road trip. we went 3-2? 2 losses were to the 2 best teams in the east right now. boston is 4 points off best in the NHL, away game loss 3-2 i think we played them pretty tough. we all know we have to play our best to beat boston, we didnt and we lost 3-2 ok. all this fire sale bs is ridiculous , they have many players playing below there ability right now.
Its very clear this team isn't winning a cup.... let alone making the playoffs....AV can not judge talent.... as to Dressing Pyatt & Pouilot again.....
Why cry about not scoring and you dress the 2 worst players on the team every night who do and offer nothing in any area of the game..... you send down the Kid Miller who had tremendous upside in favor of these two...
why make a comment like this "It's not that Michael has played badly...but games like tonight we need a bit more bite"- Alain Vigneault on Del Zotto Is this idiot serious he dresses no toughness at all and then thinks Doresettt is the resident goon poor guy fights guys twice his size every time cause the coach is an idiot......
Give me 1/4 of the salary and id do a better job.....time to clean house and prepare for next yr
id make a trade with Minny for Konopka - good on face offs kills penalties and fights for the 4th line center position and he comes cheap @ 1 mil
players that would be trade bait
Boyle - doesn't not play to his size and his trade value is at the highest it will be right now cause of his faceoff and penalty kill ability
Hagelin - all those thinking and posting he was the messiah coming back from injury lmao... the guy is fast and nothing else he is scared to get hit & very inconsistent...package him with Del Zero...... see if the Jets bite for Evander Cain
Girardi - Inconsistent and refuses to be physical a systems type defenseman.... that puts the goalie at risk and teammates for his lack of standing up for anyone major trade bait - Vancouver etc....
Staal - is a shell of what he once was.... shied away from the physical play and coughed up the puck 2 times and that cost us another goal.....
Pyatt - I just don't know how AV can try and hold players accountable and this guys dresses.....so how can the team take him serious when this tool plays and contributes absolutely NOTHING... Replace with MASHINTER
Pouliot - another waste....Replace with HALEY
You want some edge and toughness to be able to compete every night and protect you players he you go keep dorsett haely & mashinter in lineup which will make your skilled players play without fear as they did 2-3 yrs ago....
I'm still just amazed that this group came out for the second and third thinking they could just play D and stop Boston. Nash had a great game, but even his second half was a 180 from the first. Just brutal. Had such high hopes at 2 pm...
I hate to say it, but the only way the rangers become a legit contender is if they trade away a major piece/pieces to get scoring. Even if that means girardi, hank, etc. It can't be clearer that this team is not built for a run, so why stick with it?
And playing in the East really masks how bad this team is. If this were the west, rangers would be having a fire sale.
Hagelin has to be the worst passer I have seen or one of the worst. Every 2 on 1 , he never ever gets that pass across. No touch, sort of like those Del Zotto slap-shot passes.
AV yet another game with the timeout in the pocket... How you don't call it after that second goal just amazes me... Fucking Moron.
Callahan shouldn't be playing if he isn't healthy, and if he is than we have bigger problems
The PP is the worst it has ever been. The second unit is the only capable one. The first is lost and I blame Girardi and Richards for that.
Richards can't be bought out quick enough... complete disappearing act since the first week of the season.
If that zuccs line isn't broken up tomorrow idk what AV watches during the game... put Kreider with Nash end of story
Why does richie pass to no one in front of the net? I thought this system was all about holding onto the puck a bit longer to make a play.
And what's up with mcd NOT skating to the puck to get it back into the play with under 20 seconds to go? Did he decide for the whole team that it was time to lay down?
You guys see girardi BOUNCE off of lucic when trying to lay a hit on him?
Time to get bigger NO MATTER WHAT.
Saddest part of the game for me, when Chara and Boyle squared up the announcers said "this isn't fair for Boyle." It was almost as if Zucc was going up against Chara.
The ranger scouts are required to draft players only 5"2 and 145 lbs and they have to be slower than a turtle.
Games against the Bruins are definitely a measuring stick for us. Time for these guys to look in the mirror and realize they need to be better if they ever want to match up against the "elite" teams of the NHL
Just amazing how quickly this group can go from playing toe-to-toe with the best in the east to looking like they don't even belong in the same league. I feel like I watched 2 different games.
@Betweentheworlds he is hurt.. and that was against the panthers. our highest goal scorer has 7 goals? we have a problem
Good points. As to the AV MDZ quote it is to protect what's left of MDZ's trade value after AV ran his mouth about doubting the defencemans ability a little while ago.
Because sather has the job for life and the owner is an islander fan that only cares about selling tickets and $20 lobster rolls.
@adiroma94 Agreed, Hank, Girardi, and some of the midgets like Stephan, Hagelin, Zucc,. Pyatt and Pouliot just let them go for a few sticks in exchange.
That's the worst part. The awful division is going to keep this team in the hunt, preventing management from doing something drastic.
@Chris M Zucc would have thrown punches and maybe landed some his heart makes him Chara size he has no fear
Yes, would be merciful to him and we could get a lot back. He knows his team is not going to score for him, no matter what. So there's no way he could be totally into it mentally, hence all the soft goals. Anyway, Talbot seems fine, screw it
@KreiderisTheChosenOne idk about that. especially after the softies hes been giving up lately.
@KreiderisTheChosenOne he could probably win a cup with the islanders atleast they can score
@johnnyb3910 each of them put on a pair of panties on after the Boyle fight........AV is an A-hole for dressing a team like this on a daily basis
I've had to miss the games lately so I figured Dorsett must be injured to sit , still some bad coaching decisions, he's got to figure out how to use these players. We've gotten glimpses of what we can do under his system but its not working on a consistent basis. Maybe start by not dressing your soft slow guys when you use a speed oriented systen and Actually try the young hungry players, and I don't mean playing Milker 7 minutes a game.
@iwantgaborik @Betweentheworlds the team really isnt that good. its full of players who we want and think should be better but this is who they are. no toughness, theyre undersized, no consistency in scoring, not the best skill compared to other teams (i find that every other team can stick handle better than ours), too many mistakes being made. callahan is a 3rd liner, 2nd liner at best. awful shot selections and no patience once they get into the O-zone and a whole lot of sloppy play in between. the games have been better compared to the start of the season but it still looks like the players are having trouble figuring out what their role is. sure theyre gonna have another OK game where they win while getting dominated and we'll all go back to saying that everything isnt so bad but it is. theyre really needs to be a trade. they are not playing smart enough hockey and thats because they dont have the right formula of players.
@JMK8363 Step sucks balls..... he is soft Kreider is out there trying with no back up what do u expect......from the kid
@IcyCup we can do a lot better for 3.5 mil he is soft and inconsistant
At the beginning of this season I assessed the team as modestly talented and lacking toughness. But this is essentially the same team that made a nice late season run last year and advanced to the 2nd round except Kreids has changed from a minor leaguer to a force, and other younger guys like Zucc are better, back up goalie is better so basically we have a better team this year than last, and better then the team 2 yrs ago for that matter that made it to the ECF. Also pound for pound we are not that small. Problem is as everyone knows is the big guys are soft, concussed, almost losing an eye or all 3. This was not a Stanley cup team going Into this year as myself and the more savvy fans here know as a few pieces are still missing. I know this is pretty much what you are saying but still a fire sale is not gonna do it. Just a couple smart trades could put us in contention. I don't think we are that far away but I don't think this coach has figured out how to maximize our players yet either.
