Andrew Gross at the Bergen Record reports that Taylor Pyatt joined the Rangers in Tampa today.
Pyatt, who has missed seven games with a concussion, was skating on his own in New York.
Steve Zipay at Newsday reports that although Pyatt has joined the team, he's not ready to play quite yet.
...with JT Miller a healthy scratch the last two games and Pouliot having a decent game last night, you have to figure, even with Pyatt not ready just yet, the former Rangers 2011 first round pick will be headed to Hartford either tonight or tomorrow.
...i've been saying all week that I expect Pyatt to be re-inserted into the lineup as soon as he's medically cleared, but with the Rangers on a bit of a nice run, AV might decide to hold off until his team loses.
...wonder how Pyatt's return will change up the lines, which, except the 3rd line, have had some pretty good chemistry. While I'm a big fan of the fourth line, maybe the move will be to put Dorsett on the third line for Pouliot and then add Pyatt to the fourth line.

He will be on the 3ed line when he is ready. Suspect AV is concerned that the line has too much speed and needs to be slowed down. He would move Boyle up but the 4th line is playing too well so best way to slow them down is to put in Pyatt. You are getting slleeeeepppyyyy...... :)
Doubt we'll see him in tonight. Bet he just joined the team in Tampa so 1) he could skate with the team a bit and 2) see his brother Tom (who plays for Tampa but has not as mesmerizing eyes...).
When he does get back in the lineup (and let's not kid ourselves, he will be back in the lineup when he's ready), I vote for him to replace Pouliot.
I'd rather have Miller get 20 minutes in HFD than 10 minutes or scratched with the big club. Let Pyatt and Pouliot battle it out for the 12th F spot.
It's a forgone conclusion pylon will be in as soon as he's able. Hopefully JT goes down to play big minutes and pylon wastes space in the 4th line with Dorset moving up to the 3rd. Dorset has speed, decent hands and some chemistry with brass. Pouliot can enjoy the press box.
The answer is obviously don't change anything and send MIller down when Pyatt is healthy. Pouilot and Pyatt have to stay with the big club. We know what Pyatt offers (annoyingly useful), but what about Pouilot? he's a curious case...
He seems like a skilled perimeter guy. He has a bunch of speed and plays a little chippy. When he has space and/or speed, he seems great. When he is in tight he loses the puck all the time. This is a guy stuck on a 3rd/4th line role with a 2nd/1st line skill-set.
He's tall and fast. He's got hands. He can shoot.
He can't finish. Just flat-out cannot score consistently at this level.
What the hell do you do with a Top 6 forward that can't score?
Something funny about a male nurse saying an NHLer doesn't deserve to be there. And as far as Miller goes, they need to send him down no matter what. He's off no use playing 4th line minutes. He needs to be in Hartford playing big minutes.
Am I crazy or is there an insane amount of Stu Bickel love that I'm seeing in a ton of comments on these pages lately?
The 3rd line definitely seems the least successful at the moment. Dorsett has had some success on the third, but AV is liable to insert Pyatt on the third or fourth line. I'm not the biggest Pyatt fan. He and Pouliot bring different things, but I can't say we're worse off with Pyatt in the lineup between the two of them. As for Miller, I'm a big fan, but I wish they'd just send him to Hartford already. He's better off putting in big minutes in the AHL right now that Nash, Cally, and Hagelin, are back and Pyatt is soon to return.
u cant just send down Pouliot or Pyatt down without going through waivers first.. if team claims either which is unlikely, Rangers are responsible for part of the salary.. dead weight salary...
This guy is just taking up space on this team. Him and Pouliot should just go somewhere. They're useless. I mean bring back Stu Bickel instead of him at least the guy takes the body and it adds another enforcer if need be. Idk,
Once again, u dont trade DZ as his trade value is low now.. and if u were to trade DZ, u try to get D-man back
Someone hit him hard. Don't ever wanna see a guy injured but this guy does not deserve to be on this team.
i've seen it, and i think it's insane
... i'm also crazy
@AG_Blue A line of Hags Brassard Dorsett seems to be a high energy line with solid forechecking ability. Boyle Moore Pyatt is an extremely defensive line that can shut down top lines which is just as helpful but with the high energy of Dom Moore they can take people by surprise. I'd be okay with those two bottom lines.
That being said, I feel awful for Brassard not being able to really play on a solid offensive line.
sorry. Stu Bickel joke. Didn't even see it coming.
Still funny. Sorry.
Got the fights wrong. Carter broke Dubie's nose. Then Carter and Bickel fought as part of the line brawl with Prust and Rupp vs the Devs. Bicke actually bloodied Carter up. But he's definitely not an NHL player. I can't believe this is even a discussion.
