After skating for a fourth straight day during the Rangers optional game day skate this morning, Rick Nash discussed his status as he continues to recover from a concussion he suffered last month (via Rangers Twitter)...
"I was a little slow, a little out of shape, but the important part is that I feel good otherwise."
...couldn't agree more with Nash on that final sentiment. Maybe he pulls a Staal returns for one of the outdoor games.
...there's been a lot of talk in the comments section about where Nash fits into the lineup when he's cleared to return. And while it's definitely way too early to speculate, I'll add my two cents. I know he's Rick Nash and you'd like to see him on the top line with Step and Kreider, but that line has too much balance going for it right now. Maybe Nash on a line with Brassard and Callahan is the better way to go initially. I know that would take Callahan off the right wing, but someone has to accommodate Nash and I don't think anyone wants Callahan bumped down to the third line either.
Although, Rangers website beat writer Jim Cerny might have given us some insight...
...what the hell do I know.
And he's a sight for sore eyes...
...poor Talbot. That's just not fair.
Thanks but when they are that young the only trust there inside edges of skate when they developed into a little more mature is when they put it all together and use both edges appreciated the comment tho.
I know he's not pushing hard in this video, but boy he skates really well for having such an awkward stride.
Love Zucc, always have (as most of you know) and despite his size he's a very adaptable player and though some size would be ideal on his line I've seen him play well no matter who's on his line. I say this only because no matter how the Run DMC line is playing how can you not pair Nash with Step? Maybe not at first but once he gets his game back I'd be drooling to see what a Nash-Step-Kreids line could do out there. Having said that AV might try to spread the wealth and use him with Brass on a "3rd line"
Not that anyone here cares but just ran into Taylor Pyatt shopping with his girlfriend in Soho on my lunchbreak… Spring and B'way (she looked good) his eyes are even dreamier in real life LOL!! He obviously feeling better if he's out an about and shopping amongst the masses… sorry I couldn't get a pic.
Any one gunna take a look at you tube ? Type in 5 year old NHL prospect.I just uploaded video of my son skills he just turn 5 plays on mites team with 8 and 9 year olds out of a Long Island NY organization
Nash and Steps are already a proven chemistry together and please don't even put Gomez name on this message thank the Lord for the idiots who took him from us and Have us Mc D
I dont want too see that line we have going now split up, works too well, know where everyone else is going to be. scores once a night
Guys if you have a second go to you tube type in 5 year old NHL prospect this is my son Giovani he just turned 5 I figure 2025 you will be jumping on the wagon of signing him to a contract no joke great hands take a peek if you have a second
Cally is amazing and I love him to death, but I don't mind him on the third line at all. In fact, he's such a great two way player, I think it's a perfect spot for him. He'll be playing against the other team's top lines shutting them down and taking advantage of their defensive shortcomings in the offensive zone. I really think he'll flourish there.
I say don't break up Kreider step and zuc. If he's healthy at 100%, well conditioned, and all the stars and planets align we r looking at 3 solid lines capable of putting up points. I would think him captain and Richards as a top line. And brass hags and jt miller (or poul) as a good young fast third line. Have Boyle Dorset Moore poul or jt as a 4th line. Someone is obvi getting cut or going down, but competition breeds success
Nash will be on the top line with Step and Kreids. Zuccs is a playmaker and will hopefully raise the games of the struggling 3rd line as Brass, Miller (despite last game), and Pouliot are all struggling. And I know it's still a ways away but what happens to the top PP unit? Richards, Cally, Nash, and McD are a lock, but I wonder if they go with Step or Zuccs for the 5th spot. My guess is Step since they need a right hander to fill in on the left side despite Zuccs having great vision and playmaking on the PP.
Enough with Pool e not ........he sux there is a reason why this is his 5th team in a 5 year career JT belongs here he has skills on both sides of puck and shows no panic in his game .......And put Pie shit on waivers he blows he's a traffic cone
Only other change I see AV making is moving Richards back to the wing to make room for Boyle centering the third line.
He belongs w Steps he is the only center on the team who can c what the fans are doing not only his best players
Does it really matter which lines are 1, 2 and 3? They get most of the playing time. Also, Cally is on special teams so he will always log a lot of minutes.
95 % of the crap you right is terrible but I think this bumps u up a percentage or two Nash is Nasty thank God your a blog writer and not a GM or a coach Jesus Christ? Where are you hanging out with Theo Fluery somewhere smoking a glass pipe
I don't know on what line, or with what center, but I like Nash on a line with Hags. Opposing players have to respect Nash which opens up extra space for Hags to use his speed. Saw that a few times last year.
Just stating possible lines, not taking into consideration which winger is which:
Kreids Step Zucc
Hags Richie Nash
Miller Brass Cally
Boyle Moore Dorsett
Miller/Dorsett/Boyle would probably be switched up from time to time whenever AV feels it being necessary. I feel like these combinations of lines has a surprising amount of skill, solid forechecking, and will help balance both the PP and PK.
I love Talbot and I'm not taking anything away from his ability, but can't they just string up a shooter tutor instead? After a few more passes I can picture Talbot just laying across the front of the net with his pads stacked and an arm in the air. It's so not fair!
I like the way Zucc is playing on that line, but the idea of Kreider-Stepan-Nash is too good to pass up. Besides, Pouiliot-Brassard-Zucc showed some chemistry in pre-season. Maybe they can rekindle that when Nash comes back.
Rick Nash comes back he will be playing with stepan... You think that line is good now... Wait til you get rid of Zuccs and put the best forward on your team up there... Come on Kevin your overthinking these things as are a lot of others. Zuccs is playing well but he's no Nash. Down to the third line for him.
@Betweentheworlds Agree, Brass needs Zuc to make 3rd line making happened may be with Miller
@Iron Mike Eh. With the way concussions are it may just be a good day...or even a good couple of hours.
@Iron Mike Good news Mike - thanks for the update
@giovani1stnhloverallpick Congrats about your boy. That's sweet!
@giovani1stnhloverallpick DUDE YOUR A DOUCHE NO1 CARES, HES 5
@giovani1stnhloverallpick Just gave you a real response. lol
@KreiderisTheChosenOne so the best faceoff guy plays wing?
kreider and nash arent a good combo. nash needs hagelins speed and assists or richards skill.
kreider and callahan would be the most intense up tempo combo in the league
@KreiderisTheChosenOne this is the one i'd try first
@giovani1stnhloverallpick Theo does have good stuff.
@mmaselNYR Didn't Nash say something to the effect that he likes playing with Hags, cause Hags opens up so much ice?
@JoshKaye I was thinking these lines as well but I'd hate for Cally's minutes to diminish on the third line.
He smokes crack this guy ? 1 of the top 5 players in the game and he wonders where to put him LM FAO ....... zuchz is a poor mans St Louis no disrespect to the talent and heart of the little guy by Kevin get a grip
@KreiderisTheChosenOne You might be right, but I'd hate to mess with a good thing.
Hide you fag behind a f king blog I could guarantee you would be in hospital for a long time if you had the balls to say to me in person but knowledge of your type you wouldn't even walk on the same side of street as me homo
@giovani1stnhloverallpick And just b/c Stepan and Nash are the two best players it doesn't mean they'll click. See Gomez/Jagr and Richards/Gaborik.
@Kevin DeLury @JoshKaye That's the great thing about AV...he actually runs the top three lines a LOT. Brassard and Boyle are averaging over 15:30 a game. Cally will continue getting large minutes on both the PK and PP and he'll continue to hit between 17-19 minutes. We'll have a great, GREAT balance on the top three lines and it's exciting.
@KreiderisTheChosenOne If he sticks. Someone has to go when Nash comes back and Pouliot would have to clear waivers. Not sure they're ready to lose him yet.
I agree until Zuc or Kreider start to fall off I think you have keep them together. Zuc is playing like a man twice his size right now. I think Cally/hags richie and Nash can be a good line.
@giovani1stnhloverallpick suck a dick bitch , your kid going to get laid out 1 day probably. lol 5 year old playing on LI, put him in real league you pussy.
FUCKING LONG ISLAND DICK
