Update, 11:33 a.m.:
Never mind about Del Zotto going to Hartford. Forgot about a little thing called waivers. Although, does anyone care if another team claimed him? Didn't think so.
They do have option to send him down on conditioning assignment without waivers, but Del Zotto would have to consent.
According to Andrew Gross at the Bergen Record, Michael Del Zotto will be a healthy scratch for the second straight game, with Justin Falk again taking his place.
"It's not that Michael has played badly...but games like tonight we need a bit more bite"- Alain Vigneault on Del Zotto— New York Rangers (@NYRangers) November 29, 2013
...with the Rangers winning their last game, it's no surprise to see Del Zotto in the press box again.
...got to wonder if Sather had any Turkey Day conversations with other GMs regarding his embattled defenseman. What's sad is Del Zotto's trade value actually goes up when he's NOT playing.
...since Sather obviously isn't finding a deal for Del Zotto that makes sense for his club, maybe sending 23-year old down to Hartford to work on his deficiencies wouldn't be the worst thing for all involved.
Derek Dorsett (wrist) is a game time decision and Henrik Lundqvist will start between the pipes.
...earlier in the week it was reported that Talbot was getting the start today. Wonder if NBC and the NHL had any influence on Lundqvist being back out there with this being the network's first nationally televised game of the season.
Ugh- a fluke and a softy to lose to these meatheads.
How many hits for Cally? C'mon he's injured.
Trade hank, let him get a cup somewhere and build a contender here.
Tabby in net tomorrow, please.
Hartford might be the kindest thing for DZ both mentally and technically. As for the goalies, please tell me there is no way Lundqvist sits tomorrow! I don't doubt for a second the influence of NBC and the league in playing not just your marquis goalie but your marquis player today, but he has to be in there tomorrow for the match against Torts. No knock against Talbot whatsoever; Lundqvist deserves that start for being a cornerstone of that era.
