Joe Haggerty at CSN NE reports that Bruin David Krejci was surprised with the goals scored against Henrik Lundqvist in Game 1...
“But I was kind of surprised with Zee’s shot, and even Krug’s shot, that they got through without much traffic. I hit a post and Johnny [Boychuk] hit a couple as well, so we could have had even more.
“That’s a good thing that we know. We had over 40 shots, and we had some really good chances. We just need to put them between the three posts when we play them the next time [on Sunday].”
...listen, this is far from being bulletin board material. But I'm surprised to see Krejci even bring up the Ranger netminder's "off" night. With how competitive Hank is, if these comments get back to him I can only see them motivating him more than ever to beat the Bruins.
...what's the saying, "don't wake the sleeping dragon."
Wake the dragon- I love that!! Remember what happened when Holtby shot off his mouth after game 2????
Too many shots hit Henrik. That is the only thing the Rangers should be concerned about in that department, not how the goals went in.
Krejci can't expect those kinds of shots to go in on a consistent basis. The Rangers need to keep the Bruins out of the slot and stay out of the sightlines of the man shooting from the point unless they plan on absorbing the impact... not that this needs to be said; as there will always be someone trying to jump in front of the shot.
Is it time for game 2 yet?
I thought Hank had an off night. He had trouble controlling the puck and gave up a lot of rebounds. The loss is definitely not on Lundquist but he could of played better.
Where did he say anything negative about Hank? He was surprised 2 of the shots went in and a couple hit the post. If they need 51 shots on goal to win thenthe Rangers are in a good spot. Hank had a 941% save perentage and I'll take that 8 days a week!
Hank was off he should have stopped they were bad goals 2-goals in regulation & the one in OT he usually gets. Would have been nice if his team picked him ip by getting a goal in OT.
Just saying, 3 goals on 48 shots is far from an off-night. He let in two week goals, or they get shutout at home in game 1. Krejci is out of line here....
@ThrSage LOL! The Rangers actually pick up their goaltender? That's hilarious.
@Josh6 It is actually 3 goals on 51 shots with 48 saves.
Bold prediction!!!!I like it & if anyone can do it it's him. I have said since the game-5 loss to Caps I think Hank has said to himself if I have to shutout Caps in games 6&7 I will & he did!!!!! So maybe he will do same w-Bruins
