The Rangers will be playing five of their next six games on the road and the players are hoping it'll help pick their game up (via New York Post).
“Sometimes going on the road is good, you’ve got that road warrior mentality. You play with a different mindset. You’re all alone against 18,000 fans. Sometimes that’s a good feeling and a way to rise to the occasion, bring your game to another level.”
“Sometimes when you play on the road, you don’t feel like you have to put on a show. You go out there and try to play very simple. Your main focus is just to get it done.”
...i thought one of the biggest reasons for the closeness of last year's team was beginning the season in Europe. There's nothing like being on the road to bring a team together. Going out to dinner every night, group TV or video games in hotel rooms and the regular shenanigans that players partake in on flights and bus rides. This team needed this extended road trip and they needed it now.
...and I agree with Hank. Sometimes there's less pressure not playing in front of your own fans. Easier to relax and focus on the game.
Marty in net, gilroy and Boyle in for hammer and bicks. Lets hope that allows for rolling all for lines and all three D pairings!
