Eyes on the Prize
well, there goes another one ...
i still got this frickin fever (since wednesday night-thursday morning now) but i stuck it out tonight ... thought it might help us win ... oh well
anyway, i always like sharing the game with the gang around here
sorry we missed you tonight, @AnnoyingJoe ! hope you had a good game of your own.
I wonder what it is like in that locker room right now. I don't think there can possibly be much chemistry in there at this point. I would love to know if this team still hung out together like last year's team. My guess is not so much.
I'm all in favor of McIlrath getting the call instead of Hamrlik. That guy is skating in mud. I don't care if he's ready, just go out there and scare the hell out of someone.
So if you havent seen Avery's tweet yet, here ya go.... http://snyrangers.files.wordpress.com/2013/03/avery-tortorella.png
Could not agree more
Great...with a physical big Winnipeg team up next.....
They better be careful some of those Jets may mistake Zuccarello as hor' devour...and swallow him up whole
I mean, just to change things up, just bench Richie and Gaby. Not as a punishment, just go have a bag skate, take the day off, chill out. Come back to the rink the next game and have a clean slate.
i'm waiting for someone like Nash of Callahan to lose their cool and pick a fight just to mix it up...thought it would have happened at some point here, but it hasnt.
wathcing that replay - MDZ pathetically soft on that guy. Stick check when he should have cross checked
@cb1 re: mcillrath. why not? it would be something different.
i've been on the "McIlrath isn't ready" train, which he isn't, but Hamrlik doesn't look all that ready half the time and Stralman's play, after stepping up a couple games, has fallen off ...
@Josh6 i'm not sure, but maybe, just maybe, Avery's opinion might be just a tiny little bit biased. but that doesn't mean he's wrong.
No i dont. And look where he is now.
Zucc hasn't been here long enough to catch the Rangers' sickness, he'll be alright; some of the other guys you can worry about
How about playing Asham and Haley and let those players do what they do best. Play them occasionally with the top lines....and if anyone even gets close to Nash.....drop the gloves. You lightly check Hags....or Stephan.....drop the gloves....etc...etc...etc.
@AG_Blue led us in hits with 6. unbelievable.
@AG_Blue agreed. Maybe their best forward?
@NYR44 Dubinsky has played lik 18 games this year he hasn't done shit.
@AG_Blue I'd love to somehow get the 7th spot for the playoffs and whoop those MFs in the first round.
yessir. i like some cayenne in there too, and maybe a drop of honey.
over n out
@JoeNYR we could use him if he is the only one willing to mix it up, haven't seen a fight in weeks
I'm not knocking his play....I'm actually worried about his safety. If Newbury is the only toughness in this line-up.....if I'm a Winnipeg Jet....I'm looking to knock Zuccarello out with a shoulder to his chin......or an elbow to his head against the boards. I would rough him up at every single opportunity....and render him ineffective.
And that's the attitude of a former CHL player who made at most 240.00 dollars a week.
Can you imagine what NHL players who are trying to make the playoffs and win Lord Stanley's Cup are willing to do?
@AG_Blue indeed. but just a reminder, we're second guessing this coach. which needs to happen. because he needs to go.
@McPhee21 seriously, as a straight man, i must say that sometimes i love you.
i refuse to believe fast could compare at this point
that'd be amazing
yeah, man, sounds like the same thing ... seems a lot better this morning
@AG_Blue @McPhee21 had it in November. 102 fever for like three days, sick for a week. You're a little late to the dance, surprised ur getting it now.
that makes sense ... reminds me of the time.....
When I played....I wasn't concerned with the guys who arent skating...I was concerned about players who skating well.
For example....Richards and Gaborik for the most part have played poorly. I'm not looking to rough them up?
Why? I don't want to wake them up. Sometimes a big hit on a slumping player will cause them to snap out of their funk.
No....let sleepy players stay asleep....no need to wake them.
Zuccarello played well tonight....if I'm a Jet....I'm gunning for the little man.
yeah, i hear you, i just think there are easier targets on this team ... guys who aren't skating. Zucc is accustomed to being the little guy and a target.
i appreciate the "straight" love Icy...lol
But its not rocket science....its hockey. You can put all the goal scorers you want in this line-up....if they cant find the space....they're not going to do anything. So you create the space for them. This is what big, physical players can do for skilled players.
I'm truly amazed Torts doesnt see it.....
