I will give one more comment on Gaborick & Richards. I like both players and truely wish they were both playing up to their contracts, but they're not. Gaborick has only one year left on his, so the Rangers could live with that. Richards, on the other hand, has a $6.6M cap hit for the next 7yrs. The Rangers have a small window of time to make a decision.... buy him out next yr. and pay around $40M to watch him play for somone else (as Redden), or trade him while we still may be able to get some kind of return (and save $40M, though it ain't my money)! I really believe the pressure is just too much for him in NY, and will only get worse as time goes on and he ages.
I could not be happier for Brian. He works so hard and it has been very painful to see him scratched from games. I hope he can continue to play well because clearly the minute he has a tough games Torts will bench him.
