NYR Stu Bickel clears waivers. Will play for CT today.— Bob McKenzie (@TSNBobMcKenzie) March 24, 2013
...i know Bickel struggled mightily this season, but I'm happy to see he cleared. He's still fairly young and as we've seen this year, toughness is an important part of any line-up. And if you don't remember, he was actually pretty good for the Rangers last season.
...hopefully he can work on his game in Hartford, regain some confidence and turn some heads in camp next season.
...could you imagine a defensive pairing of McIlrath and Bickel in Hartford? That opponent better be ready to throw down.
@TheNYRBlog he's classic example of missing training camp
10-12 into season last year he wasn't on for a goal against, then he was interviewed in between periods of a game & he went downhill after that. Smh !
@TheNYRBlog Was it the Rangers intent to clear $750K from the books hoping a team claims him?
@TheNYRBlog honestly Bickel was never good. He was just not as horrid.
@TheNYRBlog couldn't agree more
@TheNYRBlog I hope he does well here, at least he'll play
@RicanRangerFan Really not sure what their intent was, but could have been.
@Zegallas Disagree, he was solid last year.
@TheNYRBlog he was invisible when not fighting. Wasn't a liability on the ice every shift when out there. If that's solid\/Good then ok.
@Zegallas Exactly how I want a rookie defenseman. Invisible. Not everyone needs to be Brian Leetch. He had a role last yr & played it well.
