Next month at this time: NYR prospect camp---7/1 thru 7/5. Latter is 1st day of free agency.— Steve Zipay (@stevezipay) June 4, 2013
Back in April, TheNYRBlog's James Wrabel reported that the Rangers will once again participate in the Traverse City Prospects tournament which is scheduled for September 5th-9th.
...in the past this event has not been open to the public and takes place at the Rangers practice facility in Tarrytown.
...going to get up on my soap box for a second. An event like this is where the Rangers miss an opportunity to interact with fan blogs. While they have every right deny access to the press box during games and the locker room before and after, I think it would be such a good will gesture to invite a number of the fan blogs to an event like this. It would also allow the Rangers organization to evaluate the level of professionalism of the chosen blogs as well as gain a working knowledge and trust of the writers in the event they ever do decide to open the press box to us lowly bloggers.
...i know the Rangers don't need them the way teams like the Islanders do, but they are woefully behind the times with bloggers. I mean the Islanders have a "Blog Box" where credentialed bloggers have limited access to the team. That's actually pretty cool. I'd like to see the Rangers possibly set something like that up for some of the serious bloggers possibly based on their performance during an event like the prospect camp.
...while I'd much rather be in the crowd with the Garden Faithful or at home listening to Sam Rosen while cheering on my beloved Blueshirts and then pull out my computer to pass along my thoughts to the readers, it would be awesome to cover the game from the inside every once in a while to give my readers access to the Rangers and MSG that they might not be used to getting.

Holy run-on sentence, Batman! ;)
That would be great especially for me since I blog about the prospects that play in Hartford. It would give MSG the chance to branch out and find potential usage for bloggers to help them during the season and or playoffs. Sadly I have never known MSG to worry about what the media wants or thinks, so I don't expect you to even get a reply from them.
Also, I was wondering when the first day for buyouts officially is? And if you think Horton could be a center the Rangers are interested in if they buyout Richards, and at what price?
Lets be realistic Kevin. Dolan doesn't give a crap about the fans, so he is not stepping in, and I don't think sather cares much at all. In fact I am pretty sure if he could keep the media out he would do that as well. I don't think it's anything personal, just business
this would be pretty cool. I'm contemplating taking 7/5 off of work. I know it will be a disappointment and it only goes to show that I need treatment for my rangers addiction.
@pkh33 You must be new here. I'd get used to the run-on sentences, spelling errors and grammar mistakes.
@Peter Hindle I think it would be a win-win for everyone. But very unlikely.
@Scott_from_Jersey LOL! My bad.
@Josh6 Buyouts run from 48 hours after Finals end till July 5th (day free agency opens this year).
I would definitely like to see him in a Rangers uniform. I think he would play left wing not center. He has a great right handed shot which is exactly what the Rangers need. I've read in a couple of places he'll get around 5 mill a year. I think he'll end p staying witht the Bruins though
@Josh6 It's 48 hours after the end of the Stanley Cup Finals.
@Josh6 I 100% agree. It's their decision and have no obligation to open up practice or camps to fans or bloggers.
@KevinDeLury Ive been reading since at least last season but only recently started posting.
@KevinDeLury Do I get a free t-shirt or something for being a new member? :)
@ThrSage You have to go through their PR department.
