Segal to Play in Opener?

Written by Kevin DeLury on .

Steve Zipay at Newsday says we should expect to see recent call-up Brandon Segal filling the suspended Arron Asham's spot on the fourth line with Jeff Halpern and Mike Rupp for the season opener in Boston on Saturday night.

It had been reported that Stu Bickel would be bumped up to forward to replace Asham.

...i would much rather see a line-up with Segal on the fourth line and Bickel as the sixth defenseman than Bickel out of position at forward and either Eminger or Gilroy on the blueline. Hope Zipay is correct.

Meanwhile, the Rangers made a minor trade yesterday...

...the Stanley Cup is ours!!!!!!!

With Asham suspended for the 1 game, I thought Michael Haley would have been the guy they called up for his feistiness/fighting abilities.

So if Bickel doesn't play does that mean the "buy top commenters a bottle if he scores" bet is off?
