Rangers to Open Season in Boston on 1/19; Home Opener vs. Pens 1/20?

Written by Kevin DeLury on .

Bob Fedas of the Boston Globe reports that the Rangers will open the season on January 19th in Boston against the Tim Thomas-less Bruins.

Rick Capiniello at the Rangers Report notes that the Rangers home opener might be the next night against the Penguins.

...Original Six match-up on opening night, followed by Crosby for the home opener? Yes, please! Although, that is a tough way to begin the season.

In other Rangers scheduling news, John Boruk at CSN Philadelphia says the Blueshirts will face the Flyers five time this season.

...looks like five guaranteed wins this season.

Finally, Greg Wyshynski at Puck Daddy tells us that the trade deadline could be April 3 and that the normally two day NHL draft could be morphed into a one-day "MEGADRAFT" on June 30th.

H/T to readers Darren P. Chris H. and Mike M. for Boston opener scoop.
