Everywhere says "10 days to 2 DAYS. What is it? 10-2 days? Or 10 days - 2 weeks lol.
I just saw Loktionov with the Kings is asking for a trade. He's a 22 year old center, but the only thing is he's 5'10. He's in the AHL but has some NHL experience. In fact, he's almost a point every other game. I guess the log jam at center is his issue with the Kings. Interested?
Correction: almost a point every 3 games. But at other levels of hockey he's almost a point per. I'd love to know his faceoff%
Wow! Great news! I think the time frames a bit optimistic but I'm glad to hear some good news!!!
The arm rests in th shoukder socket similar to a golf ball on a T. Not much hilding it in place but deltoid and labrum and rotater cuff. Most shoulder dislocations - the arm is pulled down and out if socket. With subluxation it pops back (or forward). It's more rare but he issue is if the labrum (or how severely) is torn. The only reason I know all this is because I had the exact same injury playing hockey and it required surgery. I want to remain positive about the prediction but given the nature of the game and how Cally plays the concern is worse injury if he comes back too soon.
@chrisD I'm assuming there's varying degrees of this, so hopefully his isn't too serious.
@KevinDeLury the tissue that keeps the shoulder in place like a suction cup is, in part, the labrum - front and back- my understanding is - any time theres a dislocation the labrum tears and - yes -it's a matter of how severely. shoulder injuries are easily made worse by blunt force trauma like hitting the boards or the ice. I really hope it's minor but it looked bad going off the ice - you could see the shoulder was displaced.
So wait, we're not trading Kreider, Hagelin, Stepan, and McDonagh for Bobby Ryan now to make up for the loss of Cally?
Does anyone knows what happenned to Larry Brooks I don't see any articles by him in the NY Post. Did he leave the paper? If anyone knows I'd appreciate a respnse.
@scrangersfan Sam and Joe said during telecast Saturday night that he was sick. Don't know the severity of it.
@KevinDeLury Thanks Kevin, I hope he'll get better soon and return to work so that we can pick on him.
@KevinDeLury @erichan a subluxation is a partial separation and is much less severe than a full separation. The joint gets weakened but the damage is usually limited. The 10-14 days period is to allow for some healing and for its strength to return.
@KevinDeLury @erichan twitter, ahoy! Pat Leonard just tweeted that its basically a dislocation. Shoulder pops back in to place but needs some time to heal.
Any idea of the 10-14 days is until he's game ready, or until they put him out at practice with a non-contact jersey and its actually more like 3 weeks til he's back in the roster?
If it's anything is a separated shoulder or possibly an injury to the joint on the collar bone, you see that injury a lot in wrestling and mma, Talbot leaned in hard on his shoulder when it was locked and you can see it move funny I think that's when it happens
MRI isn't good prolly means they're thinking muscle. I was hoping it was a simple dislocation 3 weeks tops, but looking bad.
It's unbelievable that it takes this long for a major sports team in NY to get an MRI!
@GLENsatherVSglennDANZIG I'm not one for conspiracy theories (actually yes I am), but maybe they know the news is bad are just holding off. Andrew Gross says they might release it before tomorrow.
@KevinDeLury @GLENsatherVSglennDANZIG Kevin you are totally right. An MRI doesn't take this long. Frankly we should have known this morning what was wrong. I don't like how this looks/sounds.
@ShreddyMercury @KevinDeLury @GLENsatherVSglennDANZIG a separated shoulder would be closer to 6 weeks, if no major surgery was needed. Plus an additional week or 2 of strengthening because it will be really weak once healed.
@KevinDeLury @GLENsatherVSglennDANZIG End of the day when they tell us Cally has a separated shoulder and will be out for a month.
I would LOVE to see them bring up Mashinter. He's got 6 points in 6 games with the Whale. I mean he can't be worse that Penaltybury and Brandon "I'm as lost on the ice as Katy" Segal (pardon the crappy names, having a 2 month old brings on lack of sleep and short bursts of caffeine.
@ShreddyMercury @GLENsatherVSglennDANZIG Jim Cerny saying hopefully by the end of the day now.
I think we're looking for a mini miracle, because that injury looked bad when it happened.
