Bruins Expect Desperate Rangers Team Tonight

Written by Kevin DeLury on .

Joe Haggerty at Comcast Sportsnet New England reports that the Bruins are fully expecting to walk into a hornet's nest at MSG tonight...

Milan Lucic...

“We know their season hasn’t started the way they wanted to, so they’re going to come at us with everything they’ve got. They’re a proud team and we’ve had some great battles over the last few years. We expect nothing less (tonight)."

Bruins coach Claude Julien on whether he expects Rangers to play with some urgency tonight...

“I don’t think they will, I know they will. When you’re that type of team and you’re put in that kind of position, you would expect the very best out of them tomorrow. It’s not an easy building to play and we’ve had our fair share of tough games there over the years. So we’re expecting a challenge. But nonetheless it’s an opportunity for us to go into their building and play the best New York team that they’ve been so far [this season]. It will be a really tough test and we’ll be up to it.”

...i agree with the Bruins here. I expect to see the Rangers team we all feel in love with last season. Led by their Captain Ryan Callahan, who I can almost guarantee will come out flying tonight, hitting everything that moves and establishing a forecheck early. If we don't see that kind of hustle early it might be another long night at MSG. And I don't even want to think about the panic that will ensue in Rangers Nation.

Here's a preview of tonight's game...

They gotta play smarter and move swifter. If we don't see that team tonight, we'll sure see them soon. Torts will just get more and more angry.

They need to score first tonight, get some momentum and run with it.

@CareyBrandsdorfer you hit the nail on the head. Early back end support and clean pressure up front. If I see Hags in the penalty box 1:20 into the game I want to see him hit the showers as soon as he gets out. Well I don't want to see him in the shower...you get what I'm saying haha

@GLENsatherVSglennDANZIG I think the forecheck needs to be tenacious which really falls on cally without prust and dubi until anyone else can prove otherwise.

@CareyBrandsdorfer Ya, I was giving that some thought. The Captain needs to lead, do something

@CareyBrandsdorfer if it doesn't start with Cally then it's not going to happen. Tonight needs to be a statement. I like Eminger being in on D I think he's a better defender so I think the D will wake up. But we gotta fill the net early and often.

Lets hope so. The fact that noone stood up for kreider possed me off. The fact that we (aside for nash and callahan) no one was really hitting, the fact that gabby seems as if his knees have been welded straight and our entire team is playing with hockey sticks with holes in them, is upsetting me. I truely expect more out of a team of this calibur

@ChrisP I'd be real concerned if they don't place with a sense of urgency tonight.
