Hey remember that awesome power play that we never had? Biron was solid in net. For the last 5 minutes of the 1st period and first 10 minutes of the second period we decided to just...not play. We blow another 5 on 3. If anyone gets excited over that power play goal, re-watch it. It was a fluke. The start of this game was one of the best starts the Rangers had all season. And then the second period comes and they just...blow it.
Boyle played a helluva game, he was not the reason we lost. Hags Step Nash is easily our best line. Cally continues to play hard. Pyatt, Powe and Halpern are also playing their asses off. Asham, decent fight but didn't do much. Miller didn't get much time. We need to find a center who can actually feed Gabby since Richie...well. I don't even have to say it. All of our d-men looked solid. But I'm angry at Del Zotto. You don't miss that wide open shot. Not with that set up.
I guess if I'm looking for positives...we looked much better on faceoffs. Boyle had 8 hits. Biron made some very pretty saves. I don't really know what else. We need a power play. It's simple.

This team also has no heart. I forget the exact record but last year we were like 20-0-2 in games where we had the lead at one point. That team did not give up leads. This team plays with no heart... Hagelin showed some tonight, but they really need to look in the mirror, and figure out how to play with some heart. Because if we keep giving up multiple goal leads.... we are heading nowhere.

@slapshot13j nash played with heart. boyle did too but he fell down doing it. halpern had hustle. i dont know what game you were watching. no heart? no, that's not the problem.
@IcyCup then where were they when we gave up a two goal lead in 7 minutes. They played with heart at the end, but it is a 60 minute game. The Rangers have let up for brief periods of time in the last 2 games and look at what happened. Last year, I don't remember them ever doing that.

@slapshot13j @IcyCup last year's team doesnt exist anymore. they lost to the devlis in the playoffs and that was it. time to move on.

Also, it seems like since the playoffs last year the Rangers are unable to consistently win. They win one and lose one. Or win three lose two. What happened to the team last year that could rattle off 7 wins in a row, in dominating fashion.
Good call on changing the lineup - NOT!!! What happened to learning about let downs and keeping the foot on the gas - oh that's right it's like the playoffs... I guess this seasons version is play every other period?!?

John Tortorella is a moron. Honestly, I could do a better job coaching this team. On a three game win streak lets change everything. Goaltender, lines, players. Then in the game lets constantly rotate people through lines... so they never build any chemistry. Did he even talk to the team after the second period? That was a joke the Islanders embarrassed us on home ice thanks to torts.
I dont care what you say about Boyle's game tonight, he had no business being out there. Kreider should have been playing with miller and callahan like every other game they had won recently.
Brad Richards is out of time. He has been a huge disappointment besides for a couple HUGE goals. Not at all what we paid for, and not looking forward to having him for 6 or however many more years it is.
Biron was not good tonight. Should have had two of the Islanders goals, and in the shootout I don't think he even moved. It will be a welcome sight to see the King back on Sunday.
Sunday's game is going to be tough, Washington has seemed to start winning, and Ovi always kills us. The lines better be back to normal, although I have a feeling JT is going to get sent back down.
Tortorella lost this game before it started. You do not mess with a team that is winning, and everyone saw why tonight. Complete meltdown yet again. Torts better figure out how to hold a lead.
And by the way how did del zotto miss on that opportunity at the end of OT. What a joke.

Boyle was awesome! Woooôooooooooo! Point at home. Biron is the shit! Three goal lead and two goal lead lost in consecutive games. Recipe for success.
