Rangers Don't Reveal Lineup

Torts will not reveal #NYR lineup for tonight after morning skate...all Blueshirts took part in skate, w/Stu Bickel wearing forward jersey
— New York Rangers (@NYRangers) February 21, 2013
Andrew Gross at the Bergen Record adds that Brandon Mashinter is likely back in the line-up and that the final line-up spot will be between Arron Asham (who had a maintenance day yesterday) and Stu Bickel (who was wearing a forward jersey this morning).
...as long as Mashinter's back in the line-up I don't care. lol. In all seriousness, I guess if Asham is healthy he'll be in. Either way the Rangers need the toughness, so I won't be too upset if Bickel gets the call.
...more interested in what the lines might look like. While I usually kill Torts for not sticking with the same lines, I'd like to see him shake things up tonight. Especially that third line which as been brutal. Cally-Miller-Kreider please!

Any reason why he is holding back his line-up????? Wait he doesn't want to reveal who on the fourth line will be getting four minutes of playing time. Give me a break Torts. Lets start worrying about some more serious things than this.
What I'd like to see:
Hagelin-Stepan-Gaborik
Kreider-Miller-Callahan
Pyatt-Boyle-Mashinter
Asham-Halpern-Bickel
Richards at the dentist getting a new mouth from 7:30-10:00
What we'll probably see:
Hagelin-Stepan-Gaborik
Kreider-Richards-Callahan
Pyatt-Boyle-Miller
Mashinter-Halpern-Asham (Bickel)
I usually kill Torts for juggling the lines but I'd like to see him mix it up a bit tonight ,are you sick ,he does that every game lmao
Seems like there is so much secrecy around the rangers right now. Lines: Hagelin Stepan Gaborik/ miller Richards kreider/ Callahan Boyle pyatt/ asham Halpren mashinter
@slapshot13j I actually don't mind these either. Not thrilled with Cally on that third line, but the rest is solid.
@slapshot13j I'm okay with these lines as well. I've said before that in limited gameplay Richie worked well with the two kids. Cally Boyle Pyatt could be a solid checking line as well. If Cally was providing offense during 5 on 5 play then this would make me uncomfortable, but with this game we're gunna needa be physical. Putting our two top checkers along with another monster...well that could work.
Pyatt -- Richards -- Gaborik
Hagelin -- Stepan -- Halpern
Kreider -- Miller -- Callahan
Asham -- Boyle -- Mashinter

@GLENsatherVSglennDANZIG @AG_Blue I'd totally be pumped for this line-up.
@johnnyb3910 @AG_Blue @KevinDeLury @GLENsatherVSglennDANZIG I'd prefer Halpern centering over Stepan. Stepan at the moment is at less than 50% on faceoffs (granted, 49%, but still). Halpern is around 55%. I don't see why we take our best faceoff guy and put him as a winger.
@AG_Blue @KevinDeLury @GLENsatherVSglennDANZIG I like the idea of looking to a guy like Halpern to step up while Nash is out. The guy has the stats of being good for 10 goals in almost ever season of his career where he played in most games. As a Veteran he should recognize an opportunity to step up and play some extra minutes for a few games while Nash is out. For a guy who's 37, he moves really well on the PK. I would have to think that you put him with some more skilled players and he'd be able to elevate his game.
@AG_Blue @GLENsatherVSglennDANZIG So basically Torts' line-up is going to look nothing like this.
@KevinDeLury @GLENsatherVSglennDANZIG -- everybody's in position accept, arguably, Halpern, but he is a right handed shot. I think it's pretty balanced too. Pyatt brings some toughness to the top line, Halpern brings veteran presence to Step and Hags, Cally is reunited with the rookies, and please let that 4th line get some minutes!
How bout a Hartford Reunion line of Mashinter-Miller-Kreider?
Then 1) Gaborik-Richards-Cally, 2) Hags - Step - Pyatt and 4) Asham - Halpern - Boyle
@johnnyb3910 the only thing is that 3rd line won't even snife the ice. Torts will glue them to the bench. I like the look of it but Torts wouldn't give them much play.
Then again, Boyle has played well against the Senators. Just take for example the first couple of games in the playoffs last year. Give him a shot on the second line for a couple of minutes and see what happens. You never know this might be the spark needs to get going again.
whatever's decided they need to get physical and stick up for each other and start playing like a team.......gotta be consistant with their game......it would b a big confidence booster if they can win these next 2 games on this Canada swing.......LGR
Rangers have lost 7 in a row against the Canadiens in Montreal last win was March 17th 2009 in a shootout (rangers scored in all 3 shootout rounds). Im bored in class in case it wasnt obvious
I wouldn't mind seeing Cally Miller Kreider together again. But the lines begin to get a little...weird without having Nash. If you have those three together, the rest of the lineup looks like this it seems:
Gabby Richie Pyatt/Hags Step Boyle/Cally Miller Kreider/Asham-Bickel Halpern Masher
Unless Torts decide to move Masher up in Boyles spot or...I honestly don't even know. Let's just win the damn game.
@JoshKaye Maybe put Halpern with Hags & Step? Or dare I say Mashinter?
@KevinDeLury I don't believe Boyle has any business on the second line at all. I would absolutely love to see Halpern on the second line. He has the quickness and he is a great forechecker. Hags and he can cause tons of pressure. Stepan is able to create turnovers since he always has his stick in the right spot. If Halpern is somehow on the second line though, you have to assume Step would be the one to move to the winger spot. You don't take our best faceoff guy off of the faceoff.
Which is why Boyle should be player center as well, not a winger spot. If he centers a 4th line of Asham, Masher or Bickel, I'd be okay with that since Boyler has been solid on faceoffs this year. The only downside to the third line is that Miller isn't exactly winning many faceoffs.
@KevinDeLury @JoshKaye as much as I'd love it, I don't think we see Miller at center. With 4 other centers, he's the only one versatile enough to play the wing.
@JoshKaye I hate Boyle on the second line. But I like the first and third line, Pyatt plays well on the first line I like his toughness up there.
