Lots of shenanigans after the whistle from the Bruins tonight. Would have been nice to see the Blueshirts keep pace in that regard. Refs were letting it go.
What a joke NBC sports network was, I mean who enjoys them praising Marchand for 20 minutes during the third period and ot when he is hated throughout the league.
As for the Rangers, it was one of their worse games i felt. They got dominated in the first period, and capitalized on a bad change by the bruins. They played a great second period, but fell apart at the end of the 3rd. Lundqvist saved them tonight and I will take the 2 points, but hate to give Boston anything. By the way no mention of the hand pass before their second goal? Where was Toronto?
Also, the Rangers 1st line looked terrible. Gaborik and Richards do nothing anymore... Pyatt looks like the best player on that line. Those two superstars need a kick or something.
Lets start to string some wins together, and play better and more consistent. We were lucky they didnt take an extra point because we blew this game. THANK YOU CAPTAIN CALLY.
If the game is being broadcasted on MSG there is absolutely no way I would watch NBCSN. Their commentators are the worst and have a clear bias in every single game. Was actually hoping Pierre would take a puck to the face like Gianonne the other night.
Rangers did seem to get dominated at times but all that matters is the 2pts at the end of the day. Nash is truly an elite world class player. That assist on Hagelins goal and his goal in the shootout, just WOW!
Isles on Thu, hopefully we can keep getting some W's. Should help solidify the Rangers spot toward the end of the season.
@ATCRyan @slapshot13j Hags would have 0 goals if not on aline with Nash.... still i'll take it. Hags' jaw was on the ice after Nash got the pass to him !
@slapshot13j Really? Except for completely failing to skate in the third period I thought they looked very similar to last year's team. Good defense, clutch offense and rely on Hank.
@KevinDeLury Yea I definitely felt there were long periods of time, like the whole first period, where they dominated play. I did think our power play looked better early though, but how they didnt score on that 5 on 3 was terrible. Then at the end of the third it looked like the players were tired and were having trouble skating to try and get in the Bruins passing lanes, which cost them a regulation win. It wasn't a bad game by any means, but this team still has a long way to go before they are playing their best brand of hockey.
I must say, I had the misfortune of having to watch this one on NBCSN (they still think people want to watch the Sabres this far over, I guess (note: my opinion obviously represents my area)). Milbury and Jones continue to be a complete disgrace. Horrible analysis, always.
@JMK8363 I almost forgot to mention the play-by-play announcer that I can't remember his name-- he'd start talking, stop for a second, finish his sentence as if he was going to continue, then just drop the train of thought. Give me Doc "Waffleboard Into The Corner" Emrick over that dude anyday.
@Ty Galpin @JMK8363 I watched the Boston feed - those announcers are actually really good, (dare I say even better than Dan and Joe) very good play by play and funny color between them
I HATE THIS TEAM SOMETIMES ..... they sure don't make it easy.
Wish someone would have put a bit hit on Lucic in the 3rd - he created that momentum all by himself hitting all our stars hard against the boards - no response from anyone.
Hank gets the obvious first star. WOW that was the best game of the year .... so far.
Wow - I left work to get a quick bite to eat, game in hand up 3-1, right? Then I walk in just as Captain Cally nets a shootout game winner? WTF?!?
Maybe that extra point for Bruins comes back to hurt Rangers come playoff positioning, but right now I could care less. Big 2 pts in Boston.
@KevinDeLury I'm glad we got out, but I am still furious that we let them score twice in the last two minutes. That was our game. It should have been 4-1, and a huge statement to the rest of the East. This is good too, but...damn, I'm Torts-level angry still.
So apparently Ritchie is making a strong statement to take Boyles seat... He and Gabby the ghost combined for one shot and zero effort!
@GLENsatherVSglennDANZIG @cb1 true. silver lining is a good lesson early in the season not to let up focus with a lead in the 3rd.
@cb1 @GLENsatherVSglennDANZIG Yeah, I hope it was a lesson learned. (Though I'm guessing it wasn't as they ultimately got away with it. And Hank's been bailing out their passive play for years.) That was embarrassing.
@AnnoyingJoe @cb1 @GLENsatherVSglennDANZIG pound my fist on the table until it hurst and curse until the end of the shoot out- that's what!
whatevs, they played an entire game, two late desperation goals what r u going to do?
@KevinDeLury Oh man, no words for that goal. If anything, it just made me furious at Gaby and Richards for trying to go five-hole on Rask like that.
those fans are getting their money's worth tonight. im getting heart burn, anxiety and angst
Miller's been a quiet the last two games, but if the Rangers keep winning there's no way he's sent back down. Right?
@GLENsatherVSglennDANZIG @KevinDeLury Tough decision for sure. I'd keep him, but that's just me.
@GLENsatherVSglennDANZIG @KevinDeLury he prevails against a team that does not check as tight as Boston - keep him - we need him to create offense vs the less disciplined teams
