McDonagh Shows Why You Don't Mess With Lundqvist
There was a lot to be excited about after last night's 5-1 victory of the Lightning. Carl Hagelin's two goals, the fourth line's outstanding play and of course Henrik Lundqvist. But for me, the best part of the night was watching Ryan McDonagh do this to Alexander Killorn when the Lightning forward thought he could poke at Lundqvist after the whistle...
...now that's strength. One handed throw down of the 6' 2" 205 Killorn.
...second straight game McDonagh made an opponent pay for getting too close to Lundqvist. Was happy to see him not get penalized this time around.
...got to love the stare down by McD after he dumps Killorn to the ice. I know I'd be crapping my pants.

For this goalie mom, the play of the game. My son had a defenseman who had that 'f*ck with my goalie and you die' attitude. Funniest part was the kid would always make sure to make eye contact with me after he put someone in their place :)
Speaking as a goalie mom....YEAH! For me the play of the game. You. Don't. F*ck. with. The. Goalie. Period.
As a former Defenseman, this made my night. Never let anyone fuck with your goalie after the whistle. Never. Especially when his name is Lundqvist. Stare down was priceless!
Wish all the players would take a page out of his book! Glad MacTruck has stepped up to set an example

That wasn't just a throw down, that was a statement. The staredown made it that much better as did the lack of response by the Lightning. McDonagh is a beast!

Yes! That was my favorite part of the game, too! Made my decision to go out and get a McDonagh jersey ASAP.
I think this is the first time in Hank's career a defenseman has protected him. Just another reason to love Mcdonagh. Great game by the Rangers, still some things to work on like line changes. Big test tomorrow in Boston, a win would be huge for this teams confidence....
