Mashinter Watch: Pounds an IceCap

Written by Kevin DeLury on .

While Brandon Mashinter was held scoreless during the CT Whale's 7-3 win vs. the St. John's Ice Caps, he did stand-up for teammate Blake Partlett and absolutely worked Spencer Machacek (0:05 mark)...

Mashinter now has 3g, 5a and three fights in 11 games since joining the Whale.

...got to love Mashinter stepping in for Parlett who is not known as a fighter. Torts would love this.

...have to assume Mashinter is going to get a shot with the Rangers at some point this season. Especially if they need a spark. I'm really becoming a big fan of this guy.

We need someone like Mashinster come playoff time. He is big, physical, can throw, and most importantly...can skate. Everyone remember the Senator series last year?  That series took a lot out of us. Boyle still isnt the same player after the hit he took. In my opinion,we still need to get bigger and meaner come playoff time

They labeled Ken Gernander as 'John Torterella' on the post game interview

That looked like it probably hurt.

I can't wait to see him on our forth line. You gotta think one of our forth liner is going to get banged up and Mash gets his shot. The Monster Mash!
