Kreider Reassigned to CT Whale...Again

Written by Kevin DeLury on .

According to Larry Brooks at the New York Post, the Rangers have assigned Chris Kreider to the CT Whale.

...i guess the Rangers took my advice yesterday. lol. This was a no brainer. Made no sense for him to either be playing four minnutes on the fourth line or sitting in the press box. Hoping he takes advantage of this move to gain some confidence and get himself back in the NHL as soon as possible.

...also guess this mean Nash is good to go tonight.

i really hope guys like Cally and Danny are talking to Kreider and telling him just to focus on getting better.  Cally was sent down in his 2nd year.  Danny was undrafted and played in the ECHL before making it to the pros.  Kreider has all the tools, just needs to learn how to use them.

Story from divorce court today......

Both parents and their attorney's were bickering over who would have

custody over their 9 year old son. The judge had enough of the bickering, and brought up the 9 year old to the witness stand.

The judge said..".Now son, between your dad and your mom, who would you want to live with? Do you want to live with your Dad?"

The boy said.." Not really. My dad hits me"

The judge then said..."So, you you would want to live with your Mom then?"

The boy answered....No Sir. My Mom hits me too."

The judge then said..."Well, if both your parents hit you, who do you want to live with. Do you have another person in mind?"

The boy thought about it...and then replied...."I want to live Chris Kreider...he doesn't hit anybody!"

Is my math wrong or does this mean that MDZ will be back tonight as well?

@Jbianco Pretty much. If he's still out it'd force Gilroy or Asham to be in.

Big deal. They'll probably call him back up tomorrow anyway.

@Beckfan5 yea when someone else gets hurt...

@slapshot13j  @Beckfan5 Im hoping that even if there was an injury they would leave him down for a while to really get his game right. That way if there is a significant injury later in the season he may actually be usefull

Hopefully he plays on the top line down there, whatever that may be at this point.  Hard to believe that Miller outlasted Kreider, but deservedly so to this point!

 @gravey94

Miller skates with "purpose"....Kreider did not. Same for Mashinster in his last two starts. I wanted Mashinster called up, but his last two games, he just seemed to be skating around...just enjoying the view. His play on the boards in the defensive zone..."going down and in" with the puck instead of "up and out'....leading to a turnover and then a goal.....you knew he was going to be sent packing.

Have never been a fan of Kreider. Team lacks scoring, grit and toughness. Kreider brings zero grit...no toughness..and wasn't scoring. In my view...its addition by subtraction.

Hopefully, they will keep in down with the Whale for a while so he can work on his game.

@gravey94 not that hard to believe, miller is more built for torts system. Kreider is the type of player that would thrive in an offense based system...

@slapshot13j  @gravey94 So is Gabby, but he's still put up 40 goals twice under Torts.  Kreider just needs to learn to adapt his game a bit, or else request to be traded to Pittsburgh or Philly, where defense is a foreign concept.

Isn't about time to ask the inevitable question if Torts type of leadership is a confidencecrusher for young players? For crying out loud we all have seen the talent of Kreider, its there. just give him time.. so why keep sending him up and down all the time... makes no sense...

I love that Rangers fans are praising the DEMOTION of our #1 prospect. Something wrong with that picture.

@KevinDeLury  -- you know it's the best thing for him, Kevin, especially if they keep him for a while and let him play.

@AG_Blue Oh, I totally agree, but when was the last time a fan base praised a demotion of a guy they love.

This was an absolute no-brainer.

@TheNYRBlog Definitely. Kid needs to regain confidence and work on play away from the puck. Not bounce between bottom lines.

Only a matter of time. This had to happen.

@TheNYRBlog Hope so, perhaps a late call up in time to for the playoffs like last season. Hopefully all the hype and pressure form last year

This would have to mean Nash is a go for tonight, right? Other than Bickel as the swing man, there is no extra forward on the roster I believe.

@TheNYRBlog We both finally got our wish! Hopefully this time he stays until he is ready cause he never should've come back last weekend.
