#NYR will have Dan Girardi back in lineup tonight, he confirmed as much after morning skate...Boyle, Bickel, Eminger late on ice, likely out

Girardi is expected to be back with his defensive partner Ryan McDonagh.
...great news on Girardi as I was definitely starting to get panicky. Also happy to see Gilroy get the nod again over Bickel or Eminger. His game has gotten better with every shift.
...really hoping for an inspired effort from the Rangers tonight with this line-up, because I think it's by far the best they've put on the ice this season. If they falter you know Torts will start tinkering.
...with Rupp gone and Bickel in the press box, I'm concerned about a lack of toughness, but it just means more pressure on Asham to step up.
Henrik Lundqvist will be between the pipes.

Lack of toughness? That is Asham's job...I will take the lineup last night vs Tampa every game. Let the other team dressed less talented goon types to be tough. That type of hockey is done. If there is an issue, send Asham out a couple shifts with the top lines and have him send a message. The days of dressing 2-3 goons a game are long gone in the NHL.
Torts just benched him. There is nothing wrong with Boyle other than he misses Pruster. He needs to get over it and work the way he used to. I am a big Boyle fan. But his play has been less than adequate.
@AnnoyingJoe I heard he has a giraffe that he's willing to trade to another zoo. He's looking for preditorial animal that isn't afraid to go into opposing animal dirty areas or trade it for an animal that can produce a lot of pee pee.
@TheNYRBlog Kevin, I love Boyle but clearly he was not producing. In your opinion, what does he need to do to get back in the line up?
@NancyBarnes Rediscover what made him so successful in the first few games of the Ottawa series last year and then hope someone slumps.
We need to start racking up points.....Other teams in the conference are getting points even when some teams lose, they lose in ot or a shootout and still get a point...it's not like we can rely on teams in our conference to play teams in the other conference and hope they lose and they're no points gained...their's points being gained in every game...4 point games and 3 point games...gotta get going....LGR
Just saw the Knicks are host the Clippers this afternoon. Ice should be in great shape tonight...
@johnnyb3910 Hopefully it'll force them to shoot to puck more instead of pass it on the power play.
@KevinDeLury sometimes I'm not even sure if an empty net would force them to shoot more, but we'll just have to wait and see... In all seriousness though, I hope you're right. Nash, Step, and Hags need to start picking corners. We know Hags can do it, he sniped that goal early in the year that got waived off bc of a Rupp penalty.
Maybe they could dress Giannone for some toughness. Puck to the face, didn't miss a beat!
Like I said, fully expecting a win. We need to win more than two in a row to get anywhere.
I think at this point there won't be many scrums because of the shortened season.I think the games against the Devils, Islanders and Philthy are examples.
The only games I would consider dressing Bickel for toughness is against Pittsburgh (because of bitch Crosby and cheap shot Malkin) and Ottawa (because of what happened in the playoffs last season).
But they will need to dress him occasionally to keep his mind and legs fresh.
Speaking of Asham, what have you thought of his play lately? I think he's been pretty good. That whole 4th line with Halpern, and now Powe, may be our best 4th line in a while.
was Eminger bad against the Isles. Idk...read some disparaging remarks but I thought he was ok...I think he's a nice depth plug in
@AnnoyingJoe I think he's even shown some grit. There were a couple of checks he put on that really impressed me. I with we had a spot for him cause he's showing more than in previous years.
@AnnoyingJoe I agree with you on Eminger. He's been fine in the few spot starts he's gotten. Much rather him over Bickel right now.
@IMLazzaro He might, but I still like the line-up. I can live without Bickel and Boyle in there.
@TheNYRBlog This may be the first time in a long time the #NYR really can roll all 4 lines.
@JoeWest297 Agreed. Amazing how last week we were complaining about depth. Great job by Sather addressing a need.
@TheNYRBlog It depends on the kids development, but for now I feel a lot happier. Powe was a great and simple add as well.
@TheNYRBlog Yes 3 clunkers out....1 or 2 more to go....Rupp Boyle , eminger, Bickle ~No speed. Next Stepan slow foot and no strenght!
