Does Prust Deserve a Tribute Video?
I never do polls on the blog, but with Brandon Prust making his first return to MSG tomorrow since signing with the Canadiens, I was wondering if Rangers fans thought he deserved a tribute video. I'll share my feelings after the jump as to not influence anyone...
...Prust was a solid Ranger no doubt, but to me, tribute videos are for legends. The return of Messier, Leetch and Jagr. Not for guys who were only on the team for two plus years. This is no slight to Prust, but to me if you're giving tribute videos to every player who gave a good effort in a Rangers uniform I think you cheapen it.
...hell the Rangers barely gave Boogaard one and he died.

BTW, has anyone ever received a tribute video after leaving their team via free agency? I don't think even Mess got one when he came back with the Canucks, but to be honest I don't remember. Trades (and death) are one thing, free agency is the player's choice.

By thinking it through. It's not like he won the Stanley Cup for the Rangers, or playing more than two years. The exception of being a solid D, and sticking for you're teammates.
The game against TB home ice, Torts and Richie had a big ovation, cause they won the cup for them.

Prust gave everything he had when playing for us. He's an amazing energy guy that sticks up for his team mates and takes on anyone no matter the size or reputation. Good on the PK also - How many short handed goals did he have for us last year?
He doesn't deserve a video but he does deserve respect and the money he's being paid- shame we couldn't afford him - miss him as much as when we traded Orr
If we do it for Prust, Dubi deserves a parade. What we should do is a tribute to the Montreal GM for taking Gomez and giving us McDonough.

Last I checked, he is a member of the opposing team come Tuesday. Eff Prust and his new Canadien teammates, eh.
i don't blame him one bit for leaving. the rangers weren't going to come close to what the habs gave him in, and his smokin hot model girlfriend lives in MTL.
