Andrew Gross at the Bergen Record reports that Ryan Callahan missed six minutes of action during the second period last night.
Gross adds that Callahan said he was fine after the game. No word on why he might have left.
...i was wondering why Torts had mixed the lines up briefly in the second period. I was literally yelling at Torts through my TV about juggling the lines while holding a lead against one the NHL's hottest teams. Sorry Torts.
...Cally looked fine burying that game winner, so you have to assume he's ok. He's a warrior, but it is worrisome to hear he had to leave the bench to be attended to.
Speaking of his game winner, enjoy...
...just 3-for-13 in the shootout for Callahan before that attempt? I would have thought he was better. He always seems to bury his breakaway attempts in the game.
Wow. Callahan has really taken his game to another level this season. I think the teams lack of energy in the early going had a lot to do with The Captain being injured. I watched the Boston (NESN) feed of the game and I really enjoyed hearing the announcers drool all over Callahan in their Boston accents. Does anyone else think that Cally has been getting a few pointers from Nash? First that breakaway goal against Tampa and now this shoulder-shrug move. Nasty.
Weird that this was brought up. I didn't notice his absence, but do recall seeing a particular play around center ice (can't remember what period) where he was reaching and something really quick made me think that it looked like he hurt his shoulder. I dismissed it at the time, but now I am more sure of it. How bad, who knows. Hopefully it's nothing...
Anyone have a list of big defenseman we could maybe look to acquire for Boyle or prospects and pick?
Did he actually leave the bench? I thought he was sitting on the bench the entire time and just missed a couple of shifts but maybe I misread...
@TheNYRBlog Stralman played well, but the NYR need a Dman to keep Lucic, Clarkson, etc honest.Boyle for one of those guys wouldn't bother me
@TheNYRBlog Left shoulder not affected by shooting. Poke checks, bumps, reaching. Those are the motions that are gonna give him trouble.
@Melissa (angelzeyes2521) I don't know either way. Did you see this reported anywhere else?
@Brianreich94 LOL! Best case scenario for sure.
@KevinDeLury Just on twitter when Gross and Zipay mentioned he missed six minutes. Zip said he was flexing his shoulder on bench so I just assumed he never left bench. Hopefully it was nothing. Because if he came back early and is going to have a nagging issue the rest of the season...I love him but I will want to kill him for that...
@TheNYRBlog ha, on the real though how's that not reported during game? Not like I need the ulcer but,..
@KevinDeLury @Brianreich94 it takes me about six minutes to take a proper poop. It's funny I was going to say he was probably poopin
