After being forced to the leave last night's game in the first period with an undisclosed injury, Anton Stralman said he felt okay, while Alain Vigneault gave this prognosis...
"They don't think it's anything serious at this time, but we'll know more tomorrow"
Stralman's status is uncertain for tomorrow in Tampa, which facilitated the recall of Conor Allen from Hartford.
If Marc Staal is able to practice in full today, there is an outside chance he could be ready to return to the Rangers lineup tomorrow.
...i'm not expecting either Stralman or Staal to be available on Sunday, so it looks like the NHL debut for Allen. And while I am excited to see if he can compete at the NHL level, the Rangers could have a rough one defensively as they'll likely be severly undermanned on the blueline against a hot Lightning team who doesn't lose at home. And all this of course happens just in time for Lundqvist to return between the pipes. That poor bastard.
Nash is trying to do too much on his own, carrying the puck into the zone all the time and drawing double coverage. He needs the others on his line to gain the zone, and hit him in stride at the top of the circle. Then he can go one-on-one with the D or get his shot off.
Perfect opportunity for hank to bounce back here. He will be facing at least 2
Breakaways and 40+ shots. no dumb penalties and somebody give Nash some smelling salts. It's getting kinda ridiculous at this point. I swear he used to dominate shifts.
Can only hope that Lundqvist gives up NO softies, and that everyone gives a good disciplined effort. If they can get something decent from both Nash and Stepan, and everyone else plays with the intensity they showed against Capitals for 60 full minutes, that's all I want to see right now. If he plays,Connor Allen is getting trial by fire. LGR!
Perhaps Lundqvist could borrow Talbot's jersey and the team will be fooled Into playing better for him?
These are the kind of games Lundqvist used to be able to steal for them. But honestly, he hasn't been the same this year and last overall, his play down the stretch last year being the exception.
Lundqvist has been bad this year... But he gets absolutely no help from his team. On the other hand the team plays a lot better in front of Talbot. That's inexcusable.
