PUKE! Well at least so far Zucc is doing what I predicted when they re-signed him - too bad a 5'7" player can't carry a team in the NHL. Didn't we all say Talbot should start tonight. This coach has a knack for making the wrong call. No intuition or logic. He should be reading this blog
Maybe AV shows no emotion cause he realizes what he's got himself into now, after observing the NYR over 30 games. A couple of times they shot to him, and he had this look on his face like "Why did I take this job? This team sucks"
I don't know why, but seeing Dan Girardi smiling and celebrating on the bench after he scored his goal, pissed me off. Maybe I'm weird, but I wanted the NYR to have that look of "Ok. Let's do this. Let's get this next goal" instead of his reaction which was like, "Sweet. This game is a blowout." Maybe I'm reading into it too much, but it's like Dan G. is just hoping to play well for himself and then sign a big contract somewhere else at the end of the season.
Way I see it, only reason we had some offense at one point was because we were able to trap the other team - dump, trap, take the puck away and get a scoring opportunity. Problem now is teams are entering their midseason stride and its not working anymore.
We looked fast before because we were always on top of the other team because the other team was not necessarily able to clear the zone textbook style. Now, we are playing reactionary hockey, not taking control of the play ourselves (giving up all momentum by dumping the puck in from center ice a la Torts era). Difference now is that when we lose the puck, we no longer have the defensive prowess to take the puck back in our zone and regain momentum.
Also, there is a general lack of cohesiveness in play between players. That is why you see people like Hagelin enter the zone and freeze up along the boards - he doesn't know what to do with the puck and/or have anyone to pass to. Everyone on this board gives Nash such crap for not skating through three defensemen and the goalie every game; while he has the skill to do this on occasion, that is a next to impossible feat for most (e.g. a low statistical play). You need two, three players entering the zone - can't remember the last time I have seen that happen (maybe the pretty Pouliot - Hagelin goal at the beginning of the season)
I think Zucc should run a clinic on how to pass...that assist went through 2 guys and landed right on girardi's stick
MSG has truly become like a museum. You could hear a pin drop at times with how lifeless the crowd is. Not that they had much to cheer for tonight, but playing at MSG no longer provides an advantage for the blueshirts.
The on the verge of tears interviews with Hank are becoming my favorite part of Ranger games. Im not kidding.
Why is mcllrath wearing Zuccs pants?
This Nash guy I keep hearing about is he from Europe = score a couple of pretty goals now and then and the rest of the time impersonate the invisible man?!?
Coworkers implies work... Most clearly aren't!
The seive letting in beach balls early... What did the cocksucker from the devils say....
If AV doesn't think delzaster is playing well why in hell is he on the top pp?
I understand it's desperation, but you've given pylon and poopsalot every chance except a trip to ct - send them or trade them if there's anyone stupid enough to take them! I don't care how bad kristo or Lindberg are they can't be any worse thank these two oxygen thieves!
I ve tried to be supportive and positive about the new coach, delzaster everything, but this is simply pathetic!!!
The stars should ALL be bought out / traded - their lack of effort and heart is palpable and inexcusable!
How many backups can we make into vezina contenders?
Zucc is the Rudy of this team and was one of the only players to show up tonight, but as much as I love him the hobbit isn't the 6million dollar man and can't carry this team single handedly!
Not sure how much is the coaches fault but apparently Arneil castrated brass and ulf can't teach defense to save his life... AV is too busy chewing gum or sucking on manseed flavored candy to actually coach!
And all of the above falls at the feet of slats who is clearly vying for bettmans position as the antichrist!
Ok done venting LGR!!!
Anyone see last games post game where on the way to the break, trautwig said, hmmm. Go to the dentist or finish hosting the post game show? Then they went right to commercial. LOL
Dear Santa, This has been a tough year. Can you please give me just a little bit of joy and have Sather retire or get fired? Please? I will never ask for another gift again. Thank you.
Blow it up! Mcilrath wasn't bad! One bad play but overall I liked him. He did look freaking nervous though. Hopefully he can relax next game.
one point away from last place in the division and the devils have a game in hand... o wait I forgot the shitlanders
C'mon, man ... it's just another night on the job
Ha! No... that's amazing
Have Sather get fired, get hired by PITT, and then make a trade for Crosby & Malkin for Pyatt & Pouliot. With Slats, you never know!
I thought DM made a few bad plays, but hopefully they were because of nerves and not knowing the system well. I liked his energy and he actually pushed guys around, which I haven't see from in NYR in years.
well played, Joe
i thought you were gonna say killed ... sorry
@JustinRP37 one can only hope
i figured he might not write it tonight ... maybe he oughta
THAT is awesome!
No no we will double his contract.
I do not know how that would work, since he waived that to come to NYC.
effin unreal. I don't know what these guys' problem is .........
hahaha ... that's good!
