If you're a diehard NYR fan, then you know one of its drawbacks is how expensive tickets can be to watch a home game. Compared to other metro-area arenas (The Rock, The Mausoleum), Madison Square Garden offers the best experience but at a premium price.
Well guess what: get ready to spend more money next season! Yay!
According to Sports Business Daily, MSG will offer three new 'premium areas' as the three-year renovations wrap up this fall. Lounge Club Seats, Group Hospitality Lounges and, of course, the highly anticipated Chase Bridge Seats will all be available for purchase during this season.
- The final touches for MSG will be done for this season. I am curious to see what the bridge seats look like, but other than that, it's whatever to me.
- Ticket prices are ridiculous as it is and will continue to go up and up. Especially if the Rangers play in or happen to win a Cup in the next couple seasons.
- None of this will matter if MSG has to move in 10 years.
Even without the lockout last year, the days of 10-12 games a year for me are gone :( Will be hapy to make 3 or 4. Sad
used to live in Boston, similar struggles to get reasonably priced seats, hardly ever direct from the team. Got to the point where my wife and I would fly to places like North Carolina or Florida, get tickets and make a weekend of it, and it wouldn't be that much more out of our pocket.
Recently moved to the Tampa area, and can't wait to get seats when the Rangers visit...AT A REASONABLE FACE VALUE!!!
The city isn't going to be able to move MSG. They're broke right now and will likely be broke in 10 years too. There's just too many things that have to happen and too many people that need to cooperate. Too many hands spoil the stew. If its the "Farley" building they would want to use as the new MSG then the Government is involved and we all know how that'll go. Dolan just has to threaten to move the Rangers and Knicks and that'll be it! The Mayor and maybe Govenor would get involved and smooth the whole thing over! They won't move, not after all the renovations made. Dolan may have to spend more money in 10 years to renovate Penn Station. Which the MTA wants done but can't pay for. Win/Win
@johnnyb3910 Currently a NC State student...Could walk to PNC Arena if necessary to watch the Rangers when in town. Its a SWEET deal.
@johnnyb3910 So sad.
@readjunk I like the way you think.
