Tonight, join us to break down the NHL Playoffs and the opening series between the New York Rangers and Washington Capitals. Submit questions and join in the conversation. It should be fun!
Silly question with a superstitious bias: does anyone have a breakdown of wins/losses in blue home sweaters vs. dark blue throwbacks? My daughter (in all 12 years of her wisdom) seems to think they play better in their regular blueshirts...
You know what the best thing about the Rangers is. People are picking us to win it... This team just came together at the trade deadline, and it is finally a team like last year. The difference this "team" is loaded with talent (a lot more than the 2011-2012 season, and there is so much young talent coming up. The people that say Hank and Nash are past their primes are idiots, they still have plenty of time left (Richards is up in the air). In my mind, over the next couple of years this team only gets better... especially with a full training camp. Every defensive player we have is young. I dont see any of them taking steps back. I am all for getting rid of DZ if he wants a ton of money, only because we still have Mcilrath and Skjei quietly waiting in the wings. In terms of defense our team is set for a while.
My point if people are picking us this year, wait until we build chemistry over the next couple of years. Who knows what to expect from the Rangers this year, with Hank in net anything is possible.... But I am going to watch the playoffs this year looking towards the possibilities that loom, and hope these guys like Brassard, Nash, Moore and Kreider can gets some more experience. LGR
Man...these teams hated eachother, after every whistle there was activity..great to watch know we win at the end lol
@Josh6 This year and next are the Rangers' best chances at winning. Lots of UFAs after 2014-15 season.
@TheWrage I would agree next year is our best shot, but even after that... The UFA's we will probably lose (DZ, Boyle, and maybe Clowe) I don't really see having that big of an impact especially with all the prospects we have coming up. The one UFA the Rangers can't afford to let slide to Carolina is Marc Staal. They need to keep him because he is their true number 1 defenseman. I really can't see any other crucial players that wont be around after their free agency. I think Girardi, Callahan, Lundqvist, Kreider, and maybe even Stralman will all be resigned.
