Henrik Lundqvist makes tenth straight start tonight in goal, no lineup changes— New York Rangers (@NYRangers) April 19, 2013
...conflicted on this. I would hate to see Torts burn Lundqvist out before the playoffs, but at the same time, they need to get in the playoffs first. Not sure Torts can take the chance on Biron having a stinker and the Rangers missing the playoffs because of it.
...not the perfect situation, but I think Torts has to ride Lundqvist to the finish line.
Short season those regular season rules are out the window this year. 5 left no time for rest. U ride ur best o get u to the playoffs. If we miss te playoffs by one point we will look at this game and rue why hank never played in it.
Ok on a much much smaller personal stage I do know what this is like. My son played in HS with virtually no back up goalie. But goalies are special people and Lundqvist is the best of the best. Hopefully his team will rise to the occasion with some serious offense and kick the sh*t out of anyone who gets near the crease. If they do their job Lundqvist won't get burned out. The man loves to win. He'll revel in it and get better and better if that is even possible.
@TheNYRBlog we are not good enough to support Biron in net
as much as i think it would help lundqvist to get a breather tonight, it doesnt matter if we don't make it. Biron can play if we clinch a spot, not before that.
This is the biggest game of the year...Its the game in hand that we have over the Jets and Icelanders...Plus, tomorrow the JEts and Icelanders play each other...No way am I starting Biron tonight, or the rest of the year...unless we clinch a spot with a game left..
The Rangers need to bring it like they haven't been bringing it tonight ... let's see a 60-minute effort, and an aggressive, physical game from everybody
Because of the position this team is in he has to play Lunqvist unfortunately. If last night's game was a "Battle of the Bands" it would have been The Coasters vs. The Drifters. They need to be much better tonight. Though the records are similar buffalo is not Fla - they think they still have a shot at the playoffs so they are going to come at us with everything they got, they are a better team than Fla up and down the score card and they have a real NHL goalie, and a really good one at that. Our boys need to come out strong with quickness, intensity and physical play right from the start or they will be upset by this feisty Buffalo squad
No brainer. Too close to give Biron a shot. If they can string together 4 wins and maybe clinch a berth before the last game, Biron would play vs. the Devils, I would guess.
@TheNYRBlog for a coach who is supposed to be tough and for a guy with such a big mouth he sure is afraid of a lot. The empty can.
@TheNYRBlog Torts fear of taking "risks" costs us all the time. Costs us offense, costs players who r overplayed, costs rookies confidence.
@TheNYRBlog Biron isn't much of a risk vs any team never mind the weak teams we r playing but running Henrik into the ground is a big risk.
Grinding Girardi 25-28 mins/game, playing Hank every game, means that if our boys do make the playoffs, it may be a run-out-of-gas situation. Altho, this has only been a 48 game schedule, not 82!!!
Prayers go out to anyone from the Boston area, I have never seen anything like this. Stay safe everyone, hopefully they end this soon. On another note, hank has to play Buffalo is only 4 points behind the rangers
Not the perfect situation at all. Once again the key players are being ground into the ice just to make the playoffs, only to get smoked in their first round opponent. Swell. Sorry. Biron needed to be playing more along the way. More mismanagement, much like the PP and almost everything else.
Wow! Thanks for pointing that out ...
yeah, the Blueshirts better come to play tonight
that makes sense
@Josh6 I've been in "Lockdown" since i woke up this morning. I've been counting the hours until I can change the channel from the news and watch some NYR Hockey.
This whole thing is so surreal...
