Sure it was a tough loss to the Maple Leafs last night, but, man, we were treated to some sweet goals from Rick Nash and Derek Stepan...
...Stepan couldn't have skated over to the goal and placed the puck in the corner better than that. Stepan now has eight points (4g, 4a) in his last five games.
...in related news, Ryan O'Reilly is goalless with a -4 in his last seven games.
...just Rick Nash being Rick Nash. Five goals in the last five games for Nash. Remember when he wasn't scoring earlier this season? Me neither.
...a real shame that their goals were wasted last night, but I'm still pumped to finally be watching some exciting offense from a Rangers team that is usually deficient in that department.
My god. That was a LASER by Stepan there. Kid has a sneaky wrist shot. Definitely not the first time that he's produced a laser beam for a goal like that.
Very different game last night. The comeback and hard play was great to see but giving up that last goal really hurt. I tend to watch on DVR as I can't watch TV until after my daughter goes to bed around 8:30pm. When they play terrible and fall behind I can fast forward and watch the game in an hour or so. There was no fast forwarding last night!
Watching MDZ struggle once again in his own zone reminds me that these defensive breakdowns really accelerated after Staal's injury. Secondary scoring, Staal and finding a big and talented stay at home Dman will make all the difference.
Stepan, Nash, Cally and the King are determined to get us into the playoffs...I will put my money on that 4-some anyday
Last nights game is a loss that you're going to have throughout a season. The thing that makes last nights loss tough to swallow is the egregious losses we had earlier in the year. Offensively there was a ton of good things to take away from last nights game...defensively...it's one to forget.
@TheNYRBlog loss came at bad time...they fought their way back...d was not good and some changes were brutal...too many games in short time
@ivanricov beware reductionism.
@TheWrage Dick, that's actually my nickname for him. ;)
