Yesterday at practice in Florida, Andrew Gross at the Bergen Record observed that Brian Boyle (right knee) appeared to still be limping and it looked like he was still wearing a brace under his suit pants.
John Tortorella said there were no updates on Boyle, who remains out indefinitely.
...if Boyle is still limping around I find it hard to believe that he'll be back before the end of the regular season. And that might not be a bad thing, as without Boyle in the line-up this season the Rangers are 6-1-0 while outscoring their opponents 33-14.
I can't see this being anything more than a coincidence. Sure I joke around about his skating by coining the phrase "lead foot" (which of course in hockey terms does not imply speed) but he is our best face off guy and was starting to do a few good things. Would love to see this huge kid punish his opponents and make life miserable around the net. If he could only step up that part of his game all the bashing would cease here and he might just net one or 2 more. Really got to think the Chris Neil hit went to his head, just hasn't seemed like the same player since.
jon, u are right, we definitely are. that is all that matters. I am pumped for tonight's game. yo we have to catch a game together. at applebees, or where ever.
Nothing against Boyle he's a hard worker! I'd like to get his big body in the lineup for the playoffs however we are what like 6-0 without him?
our fans have aloy bad to say about him, I personally think he plays great for us, definitely the best to his abilities, everyone is waking up, and our lines are starting to be a God damn force...
Well ... I feel very badly for him. After his benching earlier in the season he had come around and was playing much better. It's pretty clear to me that the players love him and that he is a very positive influence as a teammate.
@AG_Blue Damn you guys, that's cold.
I'm actually a Boyle apologist, but it was too easy to take a shot.
