Chris Kreider is recalled by the Rangers. #RDS— Renaud Lavoie (@RenLavoieRDS) April 17, 2013
...there you go folks. Not sure if this means Boyle injury is serious or this is just a precautionary move.
...this move obviously won't fill the faceoff void, but hopefully Kreider can add some additional offense to this lineup which has sputtered again recently.
Meanwhile, Andrew Gross at the Bergen Record reports that both Brian Boyle (right leg) and Derek Stepan (maintenance day) did not practice today.
Gross adds that Stepan indicated that he was confused after being hit by Claude Giroux right before he scored the Rangers final goal in the third period last night and that he's fine now.
Stepan did add that he he's a little banged up today.
There was no word on Boyle's condition.
...you know Stepan's in the zone when he can score despite being confused after a hit. In all seriousness, hearing that recount from Stepan has me a bit concerned about the possible "C" word.
Despite continued blurry vision, Marc Staal returned to practice for the first time since suffering an eye injury last month. Staal did not give Gross a timetable and said he still needs to feel safe with puck rimming around boards, or with the puck dumped into the zone.
...got to assume Staal's appearance at practice had a lot to do with the loss last night. Hope they continue to take they're time with him, especially after hearing that he's still having vision issues in dangerous positions.
Derek Dorsett did not practice and has still not been cleared for contact.
Finally, it looks like John Tortorella might be taking my power play advise...
Torts also said he's trying to work Brassard more into the PP. Says he wants to get John Moore more man-advantage time as well.— Andrew Gross (@AGrossRecord) April 17, 2013
Well take a gander at that.... Columbus in the playoffs.... wouldnt it be ironic if they made it and we didnt...
I'd rather have Boyle over Kreider. If we end up getting locked down in our own zone with Kreider on the ice, guaranteed goal. He just doesn't have the defensive chops to play in the NHL yet
anyone else wondering why Giroux didn't get suspended for a blindsided elbow to the head when Stephan didn't even have the puck? Can someone seriously explain that to me?
How about Haley??? these teams, Buffalo, Florida...they're polishing their golf clubs. Why not try and put a team together that other teams don't want to play against. imagine that...
Much more speed in the top-9 now, though they'll suffer in the circle and on the PK somewhat. Kreider played well with Richards before his last demotion, maybe he'll get a chance to help Richards turn his season around before he gets demoted to the 4th line.
Boyle wasn't even playing center anyway, Tortsy was putting him on wing with Richie and Clowe. As if Boyle wasn't useless enough
This is such an up and down year. It seems like every other game I feel like they figured it out...then they suck. It's going to feel really good when we nab the eighth seed and then win the cup lol
Hahahaha. That is directed directly at McPhee. Get used to seeing Kreider around throughout the playoffs, watch him carry the load again... And then I get to I say I told you so ;)
@TheNYRBlog He better kneel before Zod ..i mean Torts
@rangersfan NBCSN didn't even show a replay! what garbage!
@jtf1218 Richards is too slow to play with Kreider. I'd like to see Brassard centering Hagelin and Kreider. Stepan centering Nash and Callahan. Richards centering Clowe and Zuc.
Will he also get benched again in the playoffs? Or make a bad play which leads to a game winning goal against us in the playoffs?
We are lacking in areas which Kreider will not help us with......
@McPhee37 i would take him costing us two games in a series... if he won us 4 :)
