...if there's been tremendous growth, why do the owners feel they need more of the pie?
...this battle of billionaires vs. millionaires while the regular "Joe" suffers makes my blood boil.

Growth is a good thing, but if income and expenses are both growing (especially due to a weak dollar) then you're simply just making the same amount, but it's worth less. As I pointed out in a few other posts, you've got to look at the return on investment for the NHL. There's alot of places you could put that same amount of money and see better reward with less risk.
