NHL Fan Protest on September 15th

Written by Kevin DeLury on .

nhllockoutA lot of readers have asked me if there's anything they can do to stop the impending lockout. Up until this point I really had nothing, but that has all changed as NoHockeyLockout.com has scheduled a NHL Fan Protest at NHL Headquarters in Manhattan on the CBA deadline of September 15th.

So if you're interested in sending a message to Commissioner Gary Bettman, click here for more details on the protest.

...don't think I'll be there, but if anyone goes definitely send me pics of the protest as I'd love to post them on the blog.

It's a sin, the nonsense going on, but as much as I bleed blue and want to see my team on my ice...I think I agree with Rich

Boycott owners interests. As fans, however, I still think it's important not to necessarily choose sides in this battle. We are affected differently. We have our side. http://youhavetwoweeks.com/

Love to see a huge turnout but u don't think they are going to get it. I would like to start a massive petition threatening to boycott the sport and deliver it to Bettman's office after 50,000 signatures. Any thoughts?

@HJB91 It would be making an empty threat. 9/10 people will be right back at it on day 1 when hockey returns. Boycott the owners and their companies for the duration of a lockout. http://youhavetwoweeks.com/

@_Jack Hahaha... The problem is tho the NHL players will find other work in Europe in a second. So owners have no leverage.

I love hockey in all forms, but if the powers that be on both sides of the isle want to kill the sport, so be it. You "can't fix stupid" and that's what we have here. Let these people go out and get a real job. I'm tired of all the money BS. It's why I haven't followed basketball, baseball and, more recently, football, for years. Hockey is my last major sport. If they want to ruin it, so be it.... there's other things I can do with my time.
