Unless this is your first visit to The New York Rangers Blog, I'm sure you've noticed the new design.
Nothing too outrageous. Featured articles at the top of the page and new fonts. Not really much else.
With the new design and the lockout, we thought it was time to come up with a new feature on the blog.
As you all know, tomorrow night was supposed to be the Rangers first preseason game of the season in Albany vs. the Devils until the NHL cancelled all September preseason games. So in an effort to shine some light on a dark situation, we thought it would be a fun idea to create faux game recaps for every contest missed due to the lockout.
So starting Wednesday morning, you will have actual Ranger game recaps on the blog. Even if they only count in Fantasy Land.
im looking forward to writing up some game reviews... i've got a few ideas in mind, as much as the lockout sucks you gotta have a little fun with it
Sorry about the ads Chris. Necessary evil with the blog. While I love doing it, I've got to make some money.
@TheNYRBlog Kewl...need hockey immersion. NFL and scab refs just ain't cutting it for me! Now if the G-Men played twice a week - Maybe :D
@TheNYRBlog Understood ads are necessary for revenue, etc. but they're totally drowning out the content now. Posts get buried in clutter :(
This is awesome. One of my fav things to read was your comments on the game afterwards. If the lockout extends into the season I know my roommate and I plan on setting up an NHL '13 season and just simulating it at the time it would be played so we can "watch" the game as it were. Need something to get me through this.
This isn't funny. Games are canceled, treat them that way. Don't try to keep people coming to this site by having "fun" imagining how the games would turn out. I know it's depressing but it should be. I am really fucking mad how everyone is making light of this in some way to make it palatable.
@TheNYRBlog New layout is neat. Circled ad in picture is an issue on every page. http://t.co/1RZuFrlY
@TheNYRBlog Something funky is happening on the new design. Rangers jersey in the frame is on the left and slightingly overlaying the header
@AlanPudding Well, the other day there was a commenter bitching, er, offering constructive criticism regarding Kevin's "whiney" attitude of late. So sue him he wants to change the vibe up a little.
@AlanPudding I hear you Alan, but if I don't laugh about it, I'm just going to cry.
@KevinDeLury I know, Kevin, but we have to do something to combat bettman's belief that "the fans will always come back," like we're sheep. I'm fed up. I will NEVER step foot in the Garden again, and for me and my son that's tragic but I'm done. For us to act like it's not a big deal, making up scores, watching games repeated on the nhl network or msg, that shows that we will come back. I won't even wear a NYR cap in the street. Make a dent in the TV ratings and that will show something else is up. I feel like I'm fighting this battle by myself. @occupythenhl
@TheNYRBlog Nature of the internet/blogging beast. FWIW: layout has tons of potential. Just gotta work out some kinks!
