Del Zotto Doesn't Know What He's Doing

Spoke to New York Ranger Michael Del Zotto via text on possibility of playing overseas during lockout, "I don't know what I'm doing."

...tough spot for Del Zotto. Without a contract he probably has legit concerns about being injured during a game overseas.
...i also wonder if he's been invited to the Rangers workouts during the lockout.

wow all the hate on DZ. this kid is pretty darn good and if you look at Folwer's contract you can understand his position.. so they should agree at somewhere north of $2.5... heck prust got $2.5 for a more limited role
"I don't know what I'm doing." Truer words were never spoken, DZ. You are fucking blowing it right now. You shoulda signed 3 years @$2.5mil weeks ago! Now you are basically not a Ranger anymore, and you're gonna get assfucked by some retarded new cap rules if you ever do make it back.
that headline could have been used a lot last year:
the power play? "del zotto doesn't know what he's doing"
defensive zone coverage? "del zotto doesn't know what he's doing"
It would be interesting to know if he's not invited to the workouts, in the same way the Rangers don't let you go to camp without a contract. I think that would be pretty short sighted on the Rangers part though. Something tells me that if there was a CBA in place, and the season was gonna start, MDZ would have signed. I can't blame him for wanting to wait out his options until he knows the score with the new CBA.
Seeing what Carlson and Fowler just got, and knowing what Staal got off his ELC, I don't think it's crazy for MDZ to want more then $2.5. I also think Slats is kinda right, knowing he's got him stuck with RFA status. Still, if there's no hockey to play, there isn't really a rush to sign a deal you don't want.
MDZ is going to have the rare opportunity to see firsthand his chickens coming home to roost if he plays elsewhere not under contract and, God forbid, he gets seriosuly injured. He should have signed on the line which is dotted!
Didn't he learn anything from Dubi going after the big bucks? He should've signed the deal Slats offered him. I don't blame him for not knowing what to do at this point, but he might of really f*cked himself here.
MDZ doesn't know what he is doing in more ways than one!! After the lockout over, Sather should try to get Erixon back and send Mdz to Columbus to replace him.
