Whale 5, Devils 2

Written by Kevin DeLury on .

The Whale are now 1-4-1 this season.

Kyle Jean scored his fourth goal of the season and was a +2.

J.T. Miller scored his first professional goal as he "undressed" Devils former first round pick Adam Larsson before scoring.

Brandon Segal had 1g, 1a.

Andrew Yogan and Tommy Grant scored the other two goals.

Matt Gilroy was a +2 with three shots on goal.

Chris Kreider did not play as he served his one games suspension for a hit from behind.

Jason Missiaen had 31 saves for his first AHL win.

Here's highlights, including Miller's goal at 1:04 mark...

...guess Jean got in the dirty area again tonight.

...ridiculous move by Miller on his goal. What makes it all the more impressive is that was against NHLer Larsson.

...no Kreider and the Whale finally win. Coincidence? Um, no.

...Gilroy has been absolute garbage in the defensive end so far this year, so it's nice to see him with a +2 tonight. He continues to put up a ton of shots on goal as he now has 23 in five games.

...great night for Rangers organization with top prospects such as Yogan, Jean and Miller scoring.

...was going to rip Thomas for not even getting a shot on goal tonight, but the Whale won so I'll leave him alone.

What is it about Adam Larsson's contract that allows him to play in the minors after 65 games with Devils last season?

Wait...are you saying that Kreider is hurting the team? Or do you actually mean one has nothing to do with the other? (I detect sarcasm but not sure lol.) They were also without Newbury as he was nailed to the bench after his penalty during the first shift of the game.

@Melissa (angelzeyes2521) Sarcasm. C'mon you know better than that.

@KevinDeLury  Just making sure. I assumed you meant they had nothing to do with each other but taking the "umm, no" sarcastically meant you did so I was just all confused. Or maybe I just need more sleep. Yeah, probably that lol. Sorry for even questioning it :-)

I met Kreider, I must've been the first to recognize him in the stands before the game...tried to get a pic with him but he didn't want to draw more attention to him, but everyone must have recognized him because it was a frenzy later on

Thomas didn't have a bad game, very quick and made some great passes...Jean and Miller are BEASTS.
