Rangers Not Collecting Additional Payments from Season Subscribers

Written by Kevin DeLury on .

Good friend of the blog Evan B. sends me this letter he received from the Rangers yesterday regarding season ticket payments in the wake of the NHL canceling more games...

Dear Evan,

Today the National Hockey League cancelled all games scheduled through November 1st, 2012. As you know, November 1st was the date originally scheduled for the Rangers regular season home opener.

As we previously shared with you on October 8th, your investment in New York Rangers season tickets is fully protected. Moreover, for those subscribers that are current on their season ticket payments, we will not collect additional payments for the duration of the work stoppage and are providing you two options for your money currently on account: (i) the True Blue Plan, where you can keep your money on account and earn 2% interest, or (ii) the Refund Program, where you can be refunded for games paid for and cancelled while earning 1% interest.

If you have not already done so, please click here to choose between these two options. If you prefer to select your option over the phone or via email, you can do so by calling me or via email. Should you not be able to reach me, please call the Experience Manager Team and someone will be happy to answer any questions or concerns you may have.

Thank you again for your continued support of the Rangers.

Sincerely,
Your Rangers Dedicated Experience Manager

...great job by the Rangers. Absolutely no need for them to continue collecting money during this situation. Will only further incite fans.

@TheNYRBlog great job by Rangers? Yes they are so generous by not billing people insane amounts for nothing.

@Bateman718 Still did the right thing. They could have been jerks, still collected and then gave fans options of being reimbursed.
